I think Scully implied in one scene that they used a combination of antivirals AND the remains of the vaccine Krycek dropped. You might have missed that. Gillian whispered a lot in this ep. 😅 And then there was what Skinner did, it was a combination of many things that saved Mulder. Billy Miles on the other hand got no vaccine, so he mutated into something alien. Thank god this didn't happen to Mulder. I have to admit I never was the biggest fan of this back from the grave conclusion. Most fans were not, it was a bit cringe and sloppy, we were all happy about Mulder being back though, no matter how. Now Mulder and Doggett can discuss their death experiences together. 😆

I really enjoyed watching you both watching this! I have come to like this episode more the more times I have watched it. There really is a lot to take in. Whatever though, it's so great to have Mulder back! 🧡

I think there was some kind of plothole, when Krycek mentioned, that Mulders father developed the vaccine. This is only partly true. It was mentioned by the syndicate in earlier mytharc episodes, that Mulders dad tried to work against the alien plans, that it was his project to develop a vaccine for the alien virus. But we learned that he never succeeded. Krycek recieved the vaccine from the russians in "Patient X/The red and the black", season 5.

I was not aware Scully used any remains of what Krycek dropped on the floor. Where exactly do you see this implication in the episode? I believe the general consensus has always been that the antiviral treatment worked.

Demijan Omeragic

The antiviral treatment worked, no matter how absurd it may sound. :) No need to worry about Mulder being an alien, lol. Billy Miles on the other hand... oh boy. Awesome episode, awesome reaction. Cheers!

Wolfgang Engel

I correct myself on this one. You're right. I thought Scully said something like that in the emergency room at minute 39. But it was just Doggett asking her about the vaccine, and she only replied with antivirals could work. (had to rewatch)

Demijan Omeragic

It's all good. :) I can't wait for the next episode, which, unfortunately, will take longer this time hehe.

Not only that, but, there is a huge mytharc blunder here with the fact that Scully manages to cure Mulder with simple antivirals... and yet a huge portion of the mytharc is based on both the Syndicate and the Russians working hard to develop a vaccine. Scully cures him just with antivirals, no need for any vaccine, lol. I mean there are plenty of mytharc issues in the series, but, I have always found this one very irritating. Not the episode, just the antiviral thing.

Wolfgang Engel

Me too. I mean, it's not a secret, that there is an increase of plotholes in the late mytharc. But we're fans, we go with it, trying not to focus too much on it. It's not the only big franchise dealing with plotholes. 🙈

Just here yo say I love you girls, it was so fun to watch you react to this episode. Also I love to hate/love krycek 🔥

Skinner was the MVP of this Episode. Had Skinner not been a believer at this point, Mulder would still be dead.
