It does make me smile when you look forward to Mulder and Scully talking about their relationship. This is Mulder and Scully peeps! They don't do that stuff! Mulder's face when he put his hand on Scully's pregnant tummy tho'! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Wolfgang Engel

No, Mulder isn't fired at this point. He's still an FBI agent, but they pulled him off The X Files. Of course he's Mulder and he doesn't care, still hanging around in his old office. But at this point The X Files is just Doggett and Scully.

Wolfgang Engel

Yeah, this episode felt weird. The storytelling, the pacing. This episode was less about the case or Doggetts son. I think the episodes purpose was more about defining the new character dynamic of the show. What is going on between Scully and Mulder, between Doggett and Scully, between Doggett and Mulder, and then there's Monica. They are obviously turning a show that was once a 2 maincharacter show, into an ensemble show. And they are drawing us a picture where everyone stands right now, and how their relationships work.

Not one of my favorite episodes, but also not horrible IMO. It felt like a rough draft that needed to be fine tuned.
