Some time after the the "original" show ended Frank Spopwiz (one of the show's producers) was quoted that Scully's baby was conceived during the All Things episode. Which lines up with what Gillian Anderson stated during the audio commentary of All Things. She said that Frank Spopwiz asked her to include a scene where it hinted that Mulder and Scully spent the night together. She did not have the scene in her original script and was told that it would be about the right time to hint that Mulder and Scully would start have an off-screen relationship. It does kind of suck that Chris Carter was so protective and against wanting to show Mulder and Scully having on-screen relationship. Only because it left a lot of questions and guessing if you were not able to read some of the hints of their relationship in episodes after All Things.

Phenomenal season finale, one of my favorites. The final few seconds are absolute perfection, such a beautiful ending. Part of me wishes the series would have ended here, although I do enjoy season nine as well. Anyway, many fans to this day still don't understand the "supersoldiers" thing. These are NOT supersoldiers made by the military. They are aliens. Knowle Rohrer, an alien himself, lies to Doggett. The supersoldiers explanation is something used by these aliens to deceive Doggett and others like him who don't believe in aliens. Unfortunately, there are discussions to this day on Reddit and elsewhere in which fans mistakenly believe these are "military products". So, in case you hear about "supersoldiers" in the series' future, it's deception to lead people away from the truth. I don't know if you remember when the Alien Bounty Hunter in "Colony" shapeshifted into a CIA agent, he talks about the ABH (or himself) as being a Russian spy-killer, and how the "Gregors" were just regular clones, no talk of any aliens. Think of it similarly here. It's a fake story to distract from what's really going on. It's a cover-story, that's the best term to use. In fact, there is mytharc interview footage of TXF staff where it is also stated that the supersoldier explanation is fake. They are exactly what Absalom and Krycek said they were: aliens. Just a new form, but with the same goals. They are colonists, just seemingly invincible at this point. Now in regards to "the disc", I wrote extensively about it in my comments to the previous episode "Essence", to try and relieve some of Shelley's concerns. Thank you for posting this absolutely terrific reaction video!

That was the second Mulder/Scully-kiss in the show, after the Millennium-kiss in season 7. But I guess people were more convinced by the second one. 😅 We need a kiss-counter now. So now that you saw the whole season, I can tell you that we knew from the start of the season, that they negotiated 12 episodes for Duchovny. There were a lot of religious metaphors in this finale. The star of Bethlehem, the Gunmen as the three wise kings who came with gifts for the newborn. Chris Carter loved to play with religious stuff and it was not everyones cup of tea. The whole supersoldier plot is a quite controversial thing for a lot of fans. However, everyone would agree with you, that it might be the most pleasant season finale of the show.

Question for the wrap up: As always....what are your expectations for season 9?

Even though I accept the entire original series as canon, this is the most beautiful ending in every possible way for me. Like you said, the "most pleasant" season finale.

Shelley. I have to say that you provide some of the funnest reaction I've seen. The best one is the reaction of Scully shooting Mulder back in 2nd Season. But watching your reaction before they kiss with your head keep getting closer to the camera was funny as well. LOL

i'm so so so happy for this reaction, first because i'm so glad you and emily could see it and experience that ending, and second, because it brought me so many feels back. shelley you're right, THE TRUTH IS THEM. emily is right too because after rewatching this episode i need to go read all the mulderxscully domestic fanfics out there lol. gillian was so good in the episode, the birthing scene was so dramatic, we could feel her stress. well, gillian was great all the season, this was a very different one in terms that it was very heavy in the angst and she delivered as always. all the frustration about the scully/mulder/baby is thanks to chris carter. i remember thinking at the time (and i still think the same) this season was lacking a very in deep conversation/scenes with mulder and scully about the baby ofc but primarily about what happened to mulder, his trauma about that and the trauma scully went through too. i think this is why -carter keeping everything behind the scenes- the x files fandom has so many good fics. i'm gonna miss krycek so much, he was my favorite 🔥villain 🔥 okay, questions for the wrap up: 1.- when do you think the invitro timeline took place? (giving its not something you just do in a week i assume). for me it either took place in s6 -because i love the drama of being the season where diana was a thing- or it started and the end of s6 and it ended in the first part of s7. idk if it was you or emily that said it, but i also believe their romantic relationship started or progressed after the failed attempt and it would match that it happened after the millennium episode. 2.- i think i asked this at the end of s7, but i'll ask again to see if something has changed: setting that in all things they did had sex, do you think it was their first time or the first time happened before that? my shipper heart tells me it was not their first but the time scully actually said to herself "okay this is it, im here for life".

This is where the X-files, first part of the show, truly ended for me. I deny season 9🤦🏼‍♀️ the movie and the reboot are worth watching but it is now my love-hate relationship towards Chris Carter turns pretty hate-y. Love your reactions, both of you. Thanks for doing the x-files.

Sooo great reactions, girls! Loved it! It almost felt like watch for the first time! It is, indeed, the best ending we could have for this show! I´ll never be able to thank you both enough for doing this! Question for the wrap up: Do you intend to watch/react to some X-Files extra contents, like bloopers and panels after finish the hole series? (please say yes)
