As a Robbie/Daisy shipper this episode makes me very happy! ...And very sad because he left 😭 Poor Daisy's bad luck streak with boys continues. I agree with you about how much was crammed into the episode. The finale being a two-parter would've served it much better, and the quadruple death fakeout (Talbot, Simmons, Mack, Yo-Yo) was a little much for me. While I love the team, it kind of takes the teeth out of things for ALL of them survive. Would've been nice for Robbie to be the one to kill Ophelia as well. I don't see why he couldn't have just hid in a corner or something like Simmons did, it's not like she was paying much attention. Phil was certainly a surprise and they want that deal-with-the-devil mystery with him, but a lot more could've been done to establish why it was impossible for Robbie to get her. Though I'm sure he didn't complain much about being de-possessed for a little while and having no more required of him than holding a walkie-talkie. Now, Agents in Space!

I love your reactions so much. I so loved how emotionally involved you were, but still able to see that this episode was a little bit of a mess, in terms of how much it had to cover, and how little time it had to do it in. You’re so right, the emotional beats were well done, particularly that of Mack and Hope, but they did not have nearly enough time to breathe or have their true impact, for both the characters and the viewers. Still, there was lots of good stuff. Like you, I particularly loved Daisy’s speech for Fitz and the team coming back together again. And it is always so genuinely impressive how much the writers manage to weave pretty much every aspect of the season together for this finale. Season 5 is a really interesting one, and I’m so looking forward to hearing your thoughts on how things play out. All I will say is we’ve already met one of my favourite new characters, and I can’t to see more of them soon!

A fine finale that maybe suffers a bit from the ol' one-two punch of time crunch and budget crunch. Both of which I am content to give a little leeway to, considering the fact that the bigwigs at the ABC network were planning on cancelling the show at the end of season four, thus forcing the writers' hands to go for broke and cram in as much as humanly possible. Had it not been for very respectable DVR numbers this would have been the last thing we would have ever seen from this particular band of SHIELD agents. Anyway, what's done is done. Now it's on to season five. My personal favourite season of the entire show.

Yes the finale feels packed and that because it serves as a finale for not only the season but the three different arcs of the season. The ghost rider arc gives a end to robbie's story with him getting the darkhold finally and bringing it to Wundagore possibly and sending it to the dark dimension. (Runaways tv show has a story that connected to the darkhold) The LMD Arc ends with all LMD's of the team dying. The Daisy and Simmons LMDs were the last ones made by Aida. The framework Arc ends with all the people being deleted from the Earth including Radcliffe who was our season big bad technically because his creations made bigger bads Aida, The Russian and Leopold.

I guess Mack "really" wanted his vote to count. He should be alright. The stakes in his life are pretty important. The next episode is a 2 hour season premiere. If you don't post them together you should at least watch them together

Oooo I wasn't expecting this until Thursday I got me days mixed up! YESS! Dinner time and AOS!

It wasn't "impossible" but it was established pretty quickly that the very sight of Robbie would have sent Ophelia scuttling away before anyone had a chance to nab her. Having Coulson temporarily become GR does two things: It pays off the GR transference that we saw previously in "Deals With Our Devils", when we saw GR leave Robbie and go into Mack and it also reminds the audience that AoS is Clark Gregg/Coulson's show. As cool as it was having Robbie/GR back, having a guest character appear in the final episode and save the day, while all the main characters stood around, would have been deeply unsatisfying.

Laurel

I watched the episode too, I’m aware of what was said. That doesn’t change the fact that Jemma surprised Ophelia just fine when she shot her by merely standing in shadow, Robbie could easily have done the same. Or any number of other strategies. And personally, I don’t think it would’ve been unsatisfying for Robbie to take her out, nor would swapping his and Coulson’s roles somehow make everyone just stand around. I don’t think I’ve ever once seen someone confused about whether Coulson’s the main character, so I don’t know why you’re asserting that as a reason he had to take Robbie’s mantle.

They had no idea were Aida would appear so Robbie can't be in the plan at all. Once she sees him she goes. Sneak attacks only works if she is caught completely by surprise. Simmons shot so Coulson could get as close as possible to Aida so she could not escape his grasp. If Robbie was in Simmons place Aida could still just teleport away if he grabbed her with the chain.

Laurel

If they had no idea where she’d appear, then they wouldn’t have been able to count on both Coulson and Jemma being in the exact place she did appear, yet that’s what happened. And she absolutely WAS caught completely by surprise, that’s why their entire plan worked in the first place. If she couldn’t sense the Jemma with Fitz being an LMD, Jemma hiding in the corner, or Coulson being Ghost Rider, she sure as hell wouldn’t be able to sense Robbie as Ghost Rider hiding out of sight until it was too late for her. The in-universe reason for Robbie not being the one to kill her is thin at best. The actual reason he wasn’t is because the writers wanted Coulson. And no, this is not something I am going to change my mind about, so I am not going to continue this conversation.

Christopher simeon

She COULD sense Simmons was a LMD that is why she said trying to humanize her to Fitz. That doesn't really make sense to say at all. She probably realized when she stabbed into her. It is only the audience that was being tricked. The point was to get her to Coulson. You saw with your own eyes that even with Coulson, Aida was still teleporting. The only reason he could hang on was because he was physically grabbing her with his hands. The only reason he got that close was because Aida did not know he was ghost rider. That was the whole point. Get the ghost rider close to Aida to kill her. It has to be a group effort with distractions to get ghost rider close. Aida first went after Fitz and his job was to direct her to Coulson but she could have easily appeared in any place. The goal is to catch her off guard with someone she thinks she can hurt. The chain won't kill her if she teleports away. It will hurt her yes then she will be gone. Simmons was a few feet away and if Robbie was in her place he would try to hit her with the chain she would teleport away like we saw earlier. There is no guarantee that you would catch her off guard if you bring Robbie in.
