Shocking end to the series. As to who killed Jack the answer was going to be Micheal Carter Peggy's brother. He did not in fact die which in hindsight makes sense since Sharon Carter exists in the future and is Peggy grandniece I believe. As to why most likely he was involved with Hydra since that file was about his actions not Peggy and since the Pin that Jack gave Peggy is the symbol of Hydra past logo from agent of shield season 3. Remember the astronaut project Watch the agent Carter one shot with the knowledge that it takes place some time after this finale and Peggy returning to new york out of guilt and grieving Thompson's death and being blamed for it by her new boss. I think it can work as the true finale of the series that way.

No, the one shot takes place before the series, the reason why (without trying to spoil anything too much about the one shot) Howard's plans involving Peggy (Shelley, once you've seen the one shot you know what those plans are) don't end up going through is because of Howard's inventions being stolen, leading to Howard being investigated by the government, leading to those plans being put on hold, which happens between the one shot and the beginning of season 1, and leads into the events of that season. The one shot takes place in 1946, before season 1.

The one shot was created before the series. They liked it so much that decided to create the series using the basic concept. I understand what you are saying but it was never meant to be chronological accurate with the series. The series was the result of the one shot expanding into a full season. The ssr looks way more advanced and organized in the one shot and Peggy boss is not the boss from episode of the Pilot. Howard seems way more in control of what Ssr is doing in the one shot that is not shown at all in the series. I am basically saying that it can't logically fit before the series because it is not meant to. But we can place it at the end of the series because at least then those things make sense as it would be the future and closer to shield forming. Howard gains more control of ssr after Thompson death. They have new procedures and Peggy has new boss. Her grieving can be from Thompson not Steve because of guilt. It also explains her being back in new York and not with Sousa. Shelley can decide on where she wants to place it im just saying it is a better ending this way.

No, Howard lost the control and influence he had because of the before mentioned reasons, the former boss from the one shot was probably reassigned, and he also wasn't the main boss, he was only a senior agent, Dooley was the chief, he just wasn't seen on screen during the one shot, but he was the chief. They mention in the one shot that it's been 1 year since Steve, with them saying Peggy's been moping for the past year, or something to that effect, don't remember the exact wording, there's onscreen visual evidence placing it in 1946, and there are scenes from the one shot in the flashback/montage in the beginning of episode 1. The investigation into Howard because of the theft of his inventions and what resulted from that explains how it can fit in.

Like I said I understand what you mean but I am just telling you that the one shot and series were not created to be accurate to each other chronologically regardless. The series was sort of supposed to "replace" the one shot not be a continuation. It would have ended similar to the one shot ending If we had more seasons leading to the formation of shield. The pilot and one shot share a similar feel with the bosses looking down on Peggy. It is just my opinion that the one shot fits better after the season 2 finale.

I understand that they were not created to be accurate to each other, but that doesn't mean they can't be accurate to each other. Just because something is a retcon doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Hydra predating the Red Skull was a retcon, but it's a retcon that makes sense. And I don't even technically think the placement of the one shot before the series is a retcon, it just makes more sense to me that way. I've thought about this a lot, and I've debated this with myself many years ago, weighing the options against each other over and over again, and this is the most logical conclusion I've come to, it simply makes the most sense to me this way. The series may not have been created to be a continuation of the one shot, but as far as I'm concerned it's still a continuation of it nonetheless, it just makes more sense that way.

Ok, about the Jack thing, the writers of the show revealed what would have been the plot for season 3, and it involved Peggy's brother Michael Carter being alive, and him being the one who shot Thompson, and him being involved in a shady conspiracy, and Peggy having to unravel it and unravel the mystery of him faking his death, ext, ext. They also indicated that Thompson survived being shot, at least initially that is, they didn't elaborate on whether or not he would survive the season of course.

Also, if you're worried about Cap going back in time to be with Peggy messing up Peggy's relationship with Sousa, don't be, when Cap went back in time to be with Peggy he created an alternate timeline, with an alternate Peggy, our Peggy is in the main timeline and remains unaffected.

In your version the ending of the one shot is ruined by the pilot of season 1. I would much prefer it the other way around where the one shot finally rewards Peggy for all her work not punish her by believing in Howard.
