About Sousa/Peggy - just been digging through stuff I posted on another Discord when S7 was airing to find my speculation/theory about what might have happened: Been pondering whether Sousa could have been Peggy's husband, and have come to the conclusion that it's still possible. The film we see in CA:TWS is dated 1953, putting it six years after the end of Agent Carter, which is plenty of time to have gotten married if we assume they were together together at the end of S2. Clearly they're at least separated by 1955, however that doesn't contradict anything as Peggy says in the film that the men Steve saved "included the man that would become my husband" rather than saying "my husband" in the present tense. Therefore she could have married and be divorced/separated by 1953 - which fits with Sousa's "couldn't stick around long enough line". Got to imagine running SHIELD, with Sousa on the west coast and Peggy presumably on the east coast wouldn't be overly conducive to maintaining a relationship in any form. Probably political things to get in the way as well - having Peggy in charge was probably hard enough for a lot of people to accept, let alone having a husband 'beneath' her. I don't think she'd let the opinions of others deter her per se, but it could be a contributing factor - I'm thinking something along the lines of government superiors forcing a choice on her about the future of SHIELD - we know that when she believes it's right she'll do whatever it takes as long as it's just her on the line, but including her colleagues will make her at least consider backing down or isolating herself in order to protect them. FYI - "No More Mr. Nice Guy" is from 1973 - the 1989 version is a cover.

This short video puts the explanation and theories about Peggy after Agent Carter and why Hydra eventually infiltrated together. There are no spoilers (Adopt you can confirm this for Shelley if she decides to watch it) It is mostly speculation and not confirmed but I choose to believe all of it because it makes the most sense as to why everything in the MCU Captain America side of the story happens leading to Project insight in Winter Soldier. https://youtu.be/n8UihqXJNAM?si=Wzi9UWJyr1mrw_Tb

I just don't think if Sousa was Peggy's Husband that Daisy would call him Old partner in 7x3 instead of ex husband. Also Sousa's hair adjusting really screams I want to try to good for someone I really like not (I'm going to see my ex wife). He even calls Simmons Agent Carter instead of Peggy which he wouldn't if it was his wife or ex-wife. Sousa's attitude towards Howard Stark this episode also seems to hint that Peggy choice to work with him instead of staying in LA made him not like Howard as much.

Wooo I just sat down with my FRONCH FRIES. Good timing!

The writers of Agent Carter have confirmed that the shooter of Thompson was in fact Michael Carter. They also confirmed that their plan for season 3 would have involved Peggy investigating the shooting of Thompson, finding out about Michael being alive, and unraveling some sort of conspiracy he was involved in.

I know but since Sousa says in this episode that he lost people to Hydra I assumed Thompson did not survive. We know Michael Carter will have a child who eventually has Sharon so Peggy most likely reunited with him. (In my mind he and Dottie got together and got married making her Peggy sister in law after she helps break whatever prototype brainwashing Hydra used on him to make him shoot Thompson.) (This would have happened in the hypothetical third season. None of this is said in any show.)

MrGreg89

I have no doubt that Peggy ended up reuniting with Michael. I hadn't considered the Dottie being Sharon's grandmother theory, a part of me wondered if it was Angie, but it being Dottie is a really interesting theory, and if I'm being honest I kinda like it. The writers didn't outright confirm that Dottie would've been in season 3, but I think there's just no way she wouldn't have been, and her helping Peggy to stop what ever conspiracy Michael was involved in, and as you say, break his brainwashing, if he was indeed brainwashed, would explain how she could get on good standing with Peggy, and be sort of redeemed. We disagree on certain details, but overall it's not a bad theory.

I'm really sad we never got an Agent Carter season 3, partly because with Michael being the main villain, or at least the main antagonist, since he probably wouldn't have been outright villainous, Peggy would've gone up against, it would have made the adversary of Agent Carter, well, Agent Carter, what with Michael, like Peggy, being an agent, just for someone else. Not to mention the emotional drama of Peggy having to go up against her brother while learning he's still alive. The tagline for the season could've been Agent Carter vs. Agent Carter. It writes itself.

It would be a nice set up for the winter soldier program. Have Michael be the first subject Hydra tested with the new winter brainwashing program. They learned it from the guy in season 1 and for revenge they use Michael as the test subject. Maybe his memories effect the programming and causes it to fail. Sometimes he is Michael then randomly trigger words will turn him into their puppet. But unlike Bucky he is his full self with all the memories and that allows him to resist. That is when they learn memories should be erased to help and they use that with Bucky.

Also, maybe Michael and what he knows is the key in fully taking down the Council of Nine, like maybe his knowledge combined with what Dottie knows about them, cause she was on to them, she had the Arena Club pin and knew about it's connection to the Council, is what helps Sousa take them down. We know Sousa eventually takes them down, and the fact they weren't taken down in season 2 means he probably needed additional information he didn't have yet, and Dottie and Michael could've provided that. Like maybe season 3 could have had two different plot threads, with Sousa going after the Council, and Dottie getting involved in that with him, do to her prior knowledge about them, and Peggy and Jarvis at the same time investigating the shooting of Thompson and finding out about Michael, with the two plot threads eventually linking up, maybe halfway through the season.
