I remember how when you watched this episode you predicted that this would be the ending with Sam and Dean driving off towards the sunset with baby and you were close as that happened in the penultimate episode. I always thought this episode was basically foreshadowing that only after Sam kills the "God" keeping them from changing their story would they truly get a chance to have that ending. Sam in the season 14 finale was the one who attempted to kill chuck. But the show went on far longer then planned and Jack became the Son that would "Kill" the God instead though they chickened out and removed his powers instead. I still think the finale should have been Micheal and Lucifer breaking out of their story too and letting Sam and Dean use their powers. Have it be two Archangels and a nephilm that can absorb energy verses God. Sam and Dean both die together along with Lucifer and Micheal. They don't go out killing each other and they even break chuck story with Michael and Lucifer.

Chuck appearing at the end - he loves to be worshipped and this musical was an appreciation of his works. It's all about his ego and he loved people loving 'his favourite show' as well. That last song had me tearing up. It always does!

I will always and forever adore the fact that the crew did not allow Jared and Jensen anywhere near the girls rehearsing the Carry On scene, so that the first time they see the cover is when they are filming. We actually get to see their genuine reactions and that, and the Single Man Tear song both make me tear up every single time lol. I think Sam definitely gets the win for this episode, since he discovered it was Calliope and he and Mini-Sam took her and the scarecrow down, but Dean did make a lot of character growth this episode as well, and I think really did need that outside perspective to pick him back up fully after the whole Deanmon thing. And him hanging the Samulet in baby, sharing that look with Sam... god, you can basically feel the brotherhood connection between the boys starting to heal, and repair itself. Also, unrelated but necessary, Screw. Chuck lol.
