Yeah the ridiculousness is definitely in the DNA of the show, but I'm very curious what you'll think about it once you're a bit further into the show and if it might have evolved etc. You're also right with eps like this being better on rewatch. When I first watched the show last year I pumped through the first season in 1 week, so a lot of it flew past me, but I remember some of these episodes being harder to connect to. Rewatching it now I do enjoy those more, even though I'd still not count them into my top list of episode for sure XD Regarding your Bobby and Abby thoughts: my mom also said the same thing when I watched this episode with her and I've had some other reactors mention it as well.

lmao yes i do think you'll just have to get used to this show being insane from time to time :') it can be quite wild but that's part of the charm imo. also, regarding them doing all kinds of medical stuff on the field, i was also very surprised by this cause i am not from the USA so i have no clue how things are done over there but apparently it is a thing? or at least i have seen multiple people mention that. and lastly, without spoiling how the storyline goes: you're definitely not alone in seeing the potential for bobby and abby in this episode lmao.

I really love the silly episodes ngl, they're good tension breakers to make the more emotional ones pack a punch, and they have fun character moments within! It's definitely sensational in its DNA and dramatic as well. Lean into the wtfery ;) And yes apparently firefighters and EMTs are sent out together in California (it's separate teams in 911 Lone Star, the spin off) so that's specific to the LA setting.

I love "disaster" movies like the "The Day After Tomorrow", "San Andreas", and "Twister". That's the same experience I get from 911. It's a drama, but I also think of it as a fantasy. That's what makes it escapism. It's just fun.
