Amara was never meant to be a romantic interest for Dean - as Carver told Jensen, she was designed to be his kryptonite. I've never understood why people had a problem with that, it always seemed obvious to me that she was another cosmic being (not a human child) who was obsessed with him as a representative of "humanity". Also I'm confused by people's discomfort at her being a baby/child/teen as she grows - it's meant to be uncomfortable! She tempts Dean with the prospect of eternal bliss, peace and comfort as the angels once did, and he rejects it as he did in seasons 4-5.

Truly Amara desired the Love that Dean has for Sam. It was mistaken for romantic love (Just like Wincest does) but what she wants is her brother's love. The desire to be protect and be prioritized over others. Amara is Sam and Dean is Chuck if you want to draw parallels.

I know this is a very Dean-centric episode, but I always feel absolutely horrible for Sam here. The bunker is his home, his one safe haven in the world besides the Impala, where he can let his guards down, and let himself be vulnerable. And Cas is like a brother to him, family. To have his abuser, in the skin of someone Sam loves, invade his home, and take away that sense of safety, of comfort, to torture and almost murder him, and be in control of Dean's safety at the same time... it is cruel, and brutal, and Sam deserves so much better. In my opinion (probably unpopular), this is one of the worst things Cas has done to Sam. I get why he did it, and why he said yes, and I understand where he was coming from. But at the same time.... Cas knows better than anyone what Lucifer did to Sam. He took on Sam's Cage match scars, he felt Sam's soul after it was saved, and he was the one who pulled Sam out of the Cage. To know all of that, and to still say yes to Lucifer, to release him back into the world after everything Sam gave up, sacrificed, to lock him away... it is, to me, almost as bad as breaking Sam's wall. Because of what happened here... because now Lucifer has not only taken the body of someone Sam loves, and cares for, but he brutalized Sam in his own home, using Cas' hands, and took away that sense of shelter from Sam. It would be like if Alistair possessed Jimmy and forced Dean to work with him to kill Lilith, and I don't think Sam gets enough credit for being forced to (knowingly or not) work with the monster who tortured him for almost 2 centuries. Jared and Misha did an absolutely phenomenal job acting here. Jensen as well, the A story was tragic, and beautifully written, and done incredibly well, but the B story I feel like stole the show for me this episode. I would argue that Delphine is a good contender for the winner of this episode, since she is the one who used the Hand of God against the Nazi's, but since you don't give it to one-time characters, I think the win has to go to Sam. He is the one who figured out Hands of God exist, he is the one who figured out where to find one, and that Lucifer was possessing Cas, and then, when Lucifer tried to kill them, he was able to banish Lucifer, after having his soul touched. This episode just really proved what an incredibly skilled, clever and brave hunter Sam really is

I LOVE this episode. The courage of Delphine and the crew really touch our hearts, as it did for Dean. And having Casifer in the episode...chef's kiss. Fun fact: The actor who played the young sailor is the guy who was the brooding antagonist shooter in the last three eps of Countdown. (sorry for reminding you of that show)

Is the season 12 poll gonna be this month or next one?

BexFangirl

Or did we already do one? I don't remember 😅
