Im still at the “we are humans part” so just to clarify, 333’s death didn’t count because the button (the one in the center) was not pressed before it happened, so 1 player had to be eliminated, hence why Gi-hun sacrificed himself, not so there could only be one winner. In ho told the true, as long as 1 player got eliminated each round, the rest could have won

The Cate Blanchett reveal was wild jaja and yes, there will be a USA squid version and not just the challenge for what I remember

Also, there’s a “squid game in conversation” special episode on Netflix if you want to see it on your own. The director and cast talks about the show and what they wanted to tell with the show

I am sure you saw when editing that the final game didn’t start until the button was pressed, so both Gi-hun and the baby would been shot if Gi-hun did not sacrifice himself as the one death required in the game.

Loved this series. It was just so unique and they did reasonably well with having engaging characters to love or hate.

Right! I liked the 2nd and 3rd season way more than I expected, specially because the creator didn't want to do a second season, he made it work and to make so well written characters was impressive

Something very telling for ME was from the VIP's in an earlier season who noted to the effect that "The Korean Squid Games were the BEST this year"... which basically preloaded the reality that this is happening elsewhere, and potentially LOTS of elsewheres. The shitty thing of course is that in Lord Dampnut's 'Merka, there would already be enough demand for it to be a real thing, and enough rampant billionaires out there comfortable betting on it. It isn't even a stretch. To me, I assumed that In-ho realized that bringing down just one set of games in one country doesn't actually fix things in the long term. Hard reality is that given another year in South Korea, the games will likely be back again, because the underlying societal bullshit that made them possible/attractive still exists. (And I would reiterate that the final game hadn't actually started yet when idiot boy got dropped off the tower, so by the rules of the game, someone had to die... and Seong was all used up by the end of things, so there really wasn't even a choice.)
