I think you would heavily enjoy The Crown next! Wonderful work always from you, thank you!

Have really enjoyed watching along with you, I do doubt there will be more as the last one didn't make as much. Downton's an absurd show at times, that seems both conservative and progressive, but when it was good it was great. This film was fun, we got more downstairs staff this time which I prefer (not enough though!), and Thomas got a happy ending. I've simped a lot for Thomas throughout these reactions but I think the Cora exchange about Mrs Dalgelish (before the hard-not-so-subtle cut to Thomas) really sums up his character arc for me - 'Why is she so nice all of a sudden?' 'Simple, because she's not afraid anymore' As much as I did prefer his chemistry with Richard Ellis from the previous film he at least got the possibility of a more exciting life. Enjoyed Mrs Patmore and Miss Baxter/Moseley ending. Rip Lady Grantham - she was a character and a half! I think Maggie Smith had wanted to go, she's joked about them fudging her characters age for years to keep her around aha

I'd noped out of this show on my original watch after season 3 because I was so mad about Sybil and Matthew, so season 4 onwards I've been watching for the first time with you. Much more enjoyable, I have to say. This was a fun ride! And now you're finally on only two shows per night :)

The video stops before the end of the movie! I didn't like this one as much as the first, just because it tried to do too much. There was at least twelve hours of plot crammed into two hours of movie and it did a disservice to quite a bit of it. We get Cora's health scare that came and went in a flash, a thirty-second conversation to settle that Mrs. Pattmore and Mr. Mason are going to get married, and Thomas abandoning his whole life after a couple of vague conversations with a movie actor. I do like Guy and I thought he had good chemistry with Thomas, but there should have been at least a *little* more than veiled hints that he was offering more than a job. And I was disappointed that Mary & Henry were left kind of up in the air. This show has always been good at tying up loose ends and to leave Mary in an unhappy marriage seems kind of weak. As for Miss Dalgliesh, as soon as she spent the first couple of scenes in silence, I had the instant thought of "Lena Lamont." I don't know if you've ever seen Singing in the Rain, but the whole plot centers around silent film stars transitioning to talkies, and the lovely, refined leading lady has a screechy voice with a working class accent and therefore needs someone to dub her voice. Another movie with Carson showing no signs of tremors in his hands. Speaking of Carson, it was cute to see him do a scene with his actual wife and have the French hat seller think they were a couple. And in other real-life trivia, Edith was pregnant for the filming of this. With Andy's baby. There actually is more Downton in the works,, although filming hasn't begun. I believe it's returning for another season on the small screen. It will be a very different show without the Dowager Lady Grantham.

I'm so glad that we got to have a good farewell for Violet. Of course Maggie Smith is no longer with us now, but I'm glad she got to give the Dowager Countess the proper goodbye she deserved. I'm also thrilled that Thomas is going off on a new adventure with a beau, no less. I wish there had been even one kiss between him and Guy, though. Just to properly send them off as a couple.
