Hey Guys!

We hope your weekend is off to a great start. Today we are back with When Life Gives You Tangerines Episode 8 here on Wednesday with the Wives. Last episode we saw so much life happening and it felt like things were working out and had a purpose, but we have a lot of episodes to go so we know lots can happen. We are excited to see where life takes them so let's hop in.

What a touching episode. The daddy/daughter scenes really get us today. We are loving all these flashbacks and flash forwards. 🥰 But did we see a wedding? And will they ever get their family home back? So many questions. We are really starting to see the similarities between Ae-soon and Geum-myeong.

We are officially half way through this show. We will be back next week with more episodes.

Enjoy.

Yeah, you don't remember seeing young Gwan-sik saying he wanted to be the First Lady because that episode had the wrong subtitles on during your viewing. The English sub says "First Lady", but the English (CC) changed it to "First Gentleman".

Thank goodness you decided to drop 2 episodes per week! I really look forward to watching these with you

Yeah, the whole incident with the "stolen" ring is the justification for why IU plays both young Ae-Sun and the daughter, Geum-Myeong. Could they have found another actress that looks similar to IU....probably, but the maid saying "she's the spitting image" of her mother wouldn't have landed as well. It's a beautiful lesson showing kindness, even to a stranger, pays off. Ae-Sun helping a stranger in Busan decades earlier saved her daughter.

29:15 remind me of when tae said his parents visited him and traveled for hours just to see him for a few minutes when he was a trainee :((

Just a little info, IU was actually drinking soju during her scene with Gwan-sik that was why she was so red.. She wanted to make it natural and not rely on the make up to make her cheeks flushed.. And i dont think this is a spoiler, but they were still in Jeju when they moved into the apartment.. And I'm happy that you immediately know that "You're annoying" to Geum-yong was like saying "I love you".. 😊

cuesegue .

And this is why Yeom Hye ran (Ae Sun's mom) won best supporting actress award at the Blue Dragon awards. Every time she's on screen you feel everything she is emoting! Every episode you react to I am reminded of how much I love this show!!

Those people in the hallway were the police officers that took her to the police station. Nothing more to it.

Yes, doesn't make sense for them to move away from Jeju. Gwan-sik is still a boat captain and has to go fishing everyday and Ae-sun needs to continue to be a street vendor in front of the new store with the aunties.

I was thinking the same and this show also reminds me of BTS so much with all the deep messages it carries

Lizzy's Mom

I saw something explaining why we are more harsh to the people who love us the most. It was about how kids seem so happy when they are with their non-custodial parent but give so much trouble to the everyday parent. When we are with people we don't feel absolutely safe with, we stifle our feelings to make sure we are safe and pleasing to that person, like how kids seem to enjoy their weekends with their parent they only see every other weekend. When they return to their full time home, they misbehave and make that parent feel like they don't love them as much. In reality, they let all their pent up emotio s out on that parent because they feel safe. It's like they are vomiting out all the negativity they've been holding in out of caution because they don't feel as safe or comfortable with the other parent. (Obviously, this does not apply to every single parent situation, but as a single parent myself, I experienced this and was so hurt by it.) So, Abby, you were right about Ae Sun and yourself. You're mean to the people who love you the most because you feel completely safe and loved with them.

Amie

In Korean he said “영부인“ which means first lady. He was pretty young which makes it more endearing.

Jober Velasco

Yup, that's why we always tell people "do not" use the English (CC) subtitles. English (CC) is full of mistranslations and missing context.

I think yall would love 25,21 and hi bye, mama they are both painfully beautiful stories like this show

Dasia

The best decision ever honestly. I was dreading these reactions because it will throw me back into this world (😭), but i am loving the 2 weekly drops!

Dasia

Yang Geummyeong is the eldest daughter of a poor family from outside of a metropolis. Enough said lol

PrettyJumpTree

FYI they were eating a block of tofu. In S. K. eating tofu after getting out of jail/prison symbolizes a new clean beginning. So because they were in trouble with the law, the lady bought them the tofu

Yellow

İ know you guys only react to kdramas but it would’ve been nice if yall watched Turkish dramas to. They are soooooo good, a bit long but really good. “Oyle bir gecer zaman ki” could be a good start. Atleast consider it guys💜

Her brother is a guy who cares for his hair ;-)

All the daddy - daughter scenes makes me cry so much! Because I am like Geum myeong and I felt so seen through her character and at the same time it made me want to be kinder to my parents ! But then again I end up being “mean” 🥲 I like to think that I got a little bit better at making them know that I do love them hahahaha Of course they know but sometimes as daughter I think I need to show I love them more

Tamara

She didn’t buy the shop, she didn’t sign the contract once she knew her daughter wants to study abroad And above that they had to sell the house so she can study in japan that’s another reason why she felt more guilty and cried hard on the plane

CatJ

It is a great world!! So fun watching with you!!

lelmDR.WHO

well I'm a hot mess. this episode had me boo-hooing today. I think I just miss my dad

minicookieot7

aww they're making jeon because it's raining (because the frying sounds like rain)! (not sure if CCW remembers that or not but it was in an episode of In The SOOP I think)
