Back in June, I mentioned Bill Maher being interviewed at the "Aspen Ideas Festival" and so today I watched the full thing and had some thoughts on it. It was not meant to be this long, especially since I contest the very notion that any "ideas" were had, but no one will ever accuse me of being a concise speaker. Also, there's a lot of weird mouth noises in this, and also since it's modern Maher he is transphobic.

I don’t think Maher is trying to interview people. I think he thinks he’s such a likable and affable guy that when people hang out with him they’re just themselves and you see the real them. It’s not what’s happening but in his mind palace that’s what’s happening.

The only place I can think of that has pools segregated by gender are the onsens in Japan. I have a hard time believing that's what he was talking about.
