Managed to beat the clock and get this up on Thursday like I said I would (we only recognize PST in this house, dammit). John and I recorded for so fucking long that, even after editing like 45 minutes out if it, I had to lower the audio quality to get a file size small enough that Acast would accept it. You guys are also owed another episode on here, so I'll get one of those up soon as well.

I need you to know I read "s23" and gasped and said "oh no"

I felt the same way when I saw the episode's audacity file was 20gb

Someone else aside from me and Paulie Walnuts uses “motherless fuck” as an insult!

Dang I got a very rapid turnaround on Bill being announced worm of the week. That's customer service.

I think the pod could be a little louder. Always turning down my headphones for the next thing. Maybe 15%, max.

Oh this tickled my hatred of PG&E. For a while I lived in Sacramento and had SMUD and they are so much better. My mom and I live in the mountains now(technically again because of grew up here) and we always wait for PG&E to fuck up and lose power because it rained too hard. They are the worst and I hate them.

Used to work valet at The Mondrian so love when Skybar gets mentioned. Literal hell on earth.

His face should be an emoji. I'd use it to reply to every dumb guy trying to sound post that I'm force to see on social media.

I listen to a lot of Knowledge Fight (the podcast that covers Alex Jones) and I swear I fist-pumped when I heard John Hastings observe how similar Jones and Maher are. Both of them seem to lack any actual principles, so they are free to completely change their stances on seemingly immutable things. Both of them make up sources freely to support their positions while claiming to be very intelligent and well-read, both of them pretend to be "above the left/right paradigm" as cover for their clear right-wing agendas and biases. Both of them are NEVER WRONG and simply re-write their own priors. There are obvious differences as well, but at the core of it they are clearly both poorly-informed narcissists that have been coddled by a lifetime of privilege in a media environment that rewards them for being interesting instead of informative, while blurring the distinction between the two. Also, I would LOVE to hear Dan and Jordan as guests on this pod at some point. It would totally make my day.

I got a little farther into the episode. People have no clue how right wing some areas of California are. I live in Amador County, one of the counties controlled by Tom fucking McClintock. He is such a piece of shit and he has been over this and several counties for so fucking long. No one will ever vote him out. There is a shop that sells flags and signs. None of them are pro-democrat. They are the worst of the worst of Trump nonsense. And you see them in people's yards and end of driveways. The funny part is almost all the people here are poor as shit and/or on SSI. Everything these tools want to cut would impact them if the more populated areas of California (such SF, Sacramento, areas of LA) made sure that California is less likely to feel the impact.

Love knowledge fight, that is a crossover we need!

I guess it is much easier to lower the volume than increase a thing's volume beyond its maximum

Neo-nazism was essentially perfected in Orange County. My ex lived in Huntington and told me about seeing a guy with a huge swastika tattoo on his chest shopping at her Whole Foods.
