Bill Maher is such an asshole he can’t even imagine that a kid with type 1 diabetes might like seeing a Barbie who also has it. Idk he’s such a stupid asshole. I’m always so furious at the end of this podcast’s episodes lmfao

Bill messes up the "no there there" joke in the monologue! Go back and listen; he actually says "The party that said there's no there there now says there's there there. And the party that was saying there's no there there is now saying there's there there". He says the same thing twice!

Lmfao, Will did you listen to the Quorators episode where they were talking about Mahr? Cause you just referenced it

mrg

you're our hero

Beautifully sung into 🫡

"I'm not saying Nazi Germany is blameless but the Jews like being the victim & like when their own people die". Imagine that during the holocaust. BM is truly evil. Palestinians haven't been offered anything close to their rights because to do so would negate Israel's Jewish supremacy which they all support fully. He's a liar.

I feel like at the end Alex did not understand why you do this and why people listen to it. These podcasts are my favorite format. To have someone else listen and respond makes me feel less alone. I also learn so much from listening to someone like Maher be wrong. Finally for my brain, it’s like yoga, stress followed by a release with humor.

Same. Reminds me of a metalhead friend who says listening to the rage soothes him, leveling out his own internal chaos by matching or exceeding it. And on the lighter side there's a lot of goodnatured playfulness, too, between host & guests. Last week a binge relisten of the Especially Hates carried me through a sometimes tedious patch & paint job, was grateful for it

That part made me so mad. The audience laughing at the mere mention of a diabetic doll shows they're as evil as BM. God forbid a child who takes insulin might feel less alone. This show is like the Zone of Interest; an insight into the banality of evil.

I just needed to document this ridiculous thing. It's small but it got stuck in my brain like a popcorn kernel hull getting stuck in your teeth

I just enjoy Will's thorough documenting of each joke and the explanation of why it's bad. Also, Mike Carrozza is a delight

Mosie

Which episode? The most recent one where he seems to imply that a Barbie with diabetes is bad bc of wokeness, almost certainly bc he associates the disease exclusively with people he hates (people who eat food)
