All the way from 2022, it's Bill Maher's appearance on Bill Burr's Thursday Afternoon Podcast. Now, you may be like "wait, wasn't Bill BURR on Bill MAHER'S podcast? And wasn't it very NOTORIOUS???" Yeah, he was, and it was, because it was famously contentious at times, and also it took place 18 months AFTER this podcast appearance. I wanted to know: were they always like this? Is it just their dynamic? Did they even really know each other before this? Well I honestly don't remember if I got definitive answers to those questions, but I definitely speculated about them. Also, the December 17th main feed episode will be about the Bill Burr Club Random, so I guess these are kind of companion pieces to each other.

I'm quite tired, please ignore any typos.

Oh hell yeah the intro is fire

the agony of hearing this level of defensiveness about age from a man who has spent the entirety of the last forty five years on the “get off my lawn” beat

Thank you for the Beatles omissions!

It's all about tomorrow and the memories are gone because he can't remember anything due to his marijuana addiction. I learned that he wants to live in sewage so he can "boost his immune system". Also, I have a confession to make: I realized I'm a fussy guy too 🫣

wtf? I was just wondering on Monday if you had done this episode already

Classic rock is one of my hobbies. I’m well over 35 and have no issues talking about the Beatles lol. Although I don’t find them nearly as interesting as many other musicians.

Remember how in the first Maher V Rogan ep, Diego and Will couldn't agree who was big dogging who when Bill Maher left early? I share the clip with my partner-- who doesn't listen it this podcast. He agreed with Diego. I speculated then that folks that listen to this podcast were more likely to see Maher as the smaller pup. Because we are more familiar with how easily offended and defensive Maher is than other, healthier people that dont intake this much Maher content. This ep is the PERFECT example of how on defensive and unfun Maher can be.

Idk why Burr is talking to Maher like he’s a comedian, I always thought of him as a wit

What's more bone chilling: the Bill Maher files or the Epstein Files? PS: get some rest big man. You're going to need it. Congratulations again.

This is a fascinating episode on just a psychological level. I feel like I’m a zookeeper observing the Bill Maher animal in a new habitat. This man has such a driving need to feel safe! Which is a very human and understandable trait, but it’s not really adaptive if you’re Mr. Politically Incorrect.

the “files” are so funny because isn’t that just like an alternative way of scrapbooking?

He looks very turtley in the cover photo
