"Booked at the Very Last Minute" month continues here at I Hate Bill Maher, with Josh Boerman bailing me out and coming on to talk about Real Time season 24, episode 24. Unfortunately there was no Grinch's wife to keep things fun, and this episode was actually structured seemingly to get worse and worse and worse until we're both extremely pissed off about it. Hey women, don't like workplace sexual harassment? Bill Maher says FUCK. YOU.

Hopefully The episode is not quite so late next week, but God works in mysterious ways.

I wasn't the only one that read the title as "You will long for the Grinch's Wife's feet" right?

Eli

so this is very specific but on his genocide denial and like, denial of broader Israeli absolute hatred of Palestinian people and their rights, if anyone wants to read the official documentation of Israeli human rights abuses from the Nakba to 1972, https://archive.org/details/palestine-international-documents-on-human-rights-1948-1972, there is so much documentation out there (of some of the most horrific and vile situations i have ever read). He is incredibly shitty and in-effective genocide denialist because he can't even use his history experience to try, and he gets too pissed off to formulate an argument.

Eli

holy shit the Jason Arday thing, he is acting as if any accusations of plagarism or lying validates or means that his death was justified or necessary. theres been so many fucking op-ed or blogs behind paywalls trying to justify their complete disproportionate and racist "investigation" into professors. its something so blatantly white supremacist and also, BM has had plagarists on his show???

Steph Vel

Quentin Tarantino, is that you? Or should I say, Toerantino?

"Women only hate attention if the guy is attractive because why did it take so long?" Dude all of your predator friends have been consistent for decades and they all look like variations of sentient cankor sores in clothes.

Your weird collages for the posts of the show are almost surely an underrated aspect of it - i love seeing them XD Art, fr

As far as Hunter's motivation I think he's just out to burn Trump and his kids to the ground. Irish revenge shit.

I’m going to introduce my spouse as “the Grinch’s wife” from now on at any holiday party

Every week, Bill Maher proves he knows nothing about politics—which is ironic, given that it has been his profession for thirty years and he has been paid millions to do it, a fact that proves that there really is no justice in the world. In his view, politics isn't about organizing, running grassroots campaigns, canvassing, registering voters, phone banking, or persuading the electorate. For Bill, it is an exclusive social club for the political establishment, Beltway insiders and the punditocracy who treat politics like it's a spectator sport; to quote the late George Carlin—a man Bill claims to revere, even though he almost certainly would have labeled George a radical woke leftist: "It's a big club, and you ain't in it." Have you noticed that the only “proposals” from these centrist dipshits is to attack the left? Not to advocate for any policies that would help everyday people, but to punch down the left and blame them for any election loss. What I worry is that the Democratic Party, as is its want, is going to listen to these centrist dipshits and say “Hey. That sounds good,” and use it to punish its left wing again. And I think that will guarantee that we flip this back and forth over the years. If the Democratic Party doesn't keep its foot floored on the pedal and maintain the momentum of progressive policies, legislation and vibes that gets people excited and instead, rely on the “they’re crazy, we’re not” message, which is what they've done for the last 30 years, it’ll backfire on them. I don't want to spend the rest of my life, and I know people a generation younger than I am, do not want to spend the rest of their lives voting to hold back a tide. Democratic voters want to be part of a tide. And so, that's my first worry is that if we're going to default to “We'll keep all the bricks in the dike, we'll keep the tide at bay.” If we get back to that mentality, yeah, we're going to flip flop a lot because people have to have a thing to vote for, not a thing they're afraid of every time.

Bill Maher loves to complain about never having won an Emmy. This episode—and the entire season—explains precisely why he never has and never will: the episode was so fucking atrocious. Hearing Bill deny the genuine war crimes and genocide in Gaza is akin to listening to a Holocaust denier. Even though the International Association of Genocide Scholars, Dirk Moses (editor-in-chief of the Journal of Genocide Research), Martin Shaw (author of What Is Genocide?), the UN, UNICEF, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, Mercy Corps, Oxfam, Save the Children, Christian Aid, ActionAid, Airwars, Israeli human rights organizations such as B'Tselem, Gisha, and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, Israeli Holocaust and genocide scholars like Omer Bartov, Amos Goldberg, Daniel Blatman, Raz Segal, and Shmuel Lederman, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Danish Refugee Council, Refugees International, the International Rescue Committee, as well as former Israeli army chief Moshe Ya'alon, former Shin Bet chief Ami Ayalon, former Mossad deputy director Amiram Levin, and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, have all stated that Israel has committed war crimes or genocide against the population of Gaza, Bill Maher flatly denies these facts; he displays blatant antisemitism by implying that Jon Ossoff (an American) is linked to the actions of the Israeli government simply because he is Jewish, and by suggesting that all Jews bear responsibility for what is happening in Gaza—a position that is openly antisemitic. He asserts this even though six out of ten American Jews believe Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza, and roughly four out of ten consider Israel guilty of genocide (I suppose that, in Bill’s mind, all Jews worldwide are Israeli and therefore cannot be natives of their actual countries of residence—a variation on the antisemitic "dual loyalty" trope). But of course, for Bill—the atheistest atheist who has ever atheisted— it is impossible for this religious ethno-state to perpetrate any form of oppression against Palestinians; for only YOU know what defines such oppression, and anyone who does not worship Israel is inevitably antisemitic.

How long was I listening before I realized they weren't talking about Count Binface when they said Alexander Binman

Josh sounds like the kind of guy that brags about his SAT score as a grown man

Will has joined the weird polycule nation, we're absolutely here for it

On a recent Waj Ali video, Waj commented that the centrists' moves are constantly "punch left and move right." It's true and so exhausing.

All of this just goes to show that once Bill has adopted a position on something, no evidence, no matter how compelling and credible, will dissuade him from it.

Michigan is the elite university you can go to and have it both ways. You get social credit for going to a “good” college but you also get to pretend to be a regular ol’ state school guy who doesn’t go in for all that high fallutin’ talk - but you went to Michigan from out of state because you do go in for all that in a big way. Ask me how I know.

I finally figured out what was going on with the Bill & Hunter discussion of Natalie Harp. When Hunter said "Could you imagine if Obama had someone like this on his team", he was saying "Imagine if Obama did this ludicrous thing, which he would get ridiculed by the Republicans for". But Bill chose to interpret it as "Imagine if Obama had this completely normal person around him, who shouldn't be criticized"

Leil Bean

thank you for saying this! the entire disgusting smear campaign was perpetrated by a literal eugenicist !!!!!!!!
