Haha, sorry for anybody who got the impression Bob and Toffee were a perfect wholesome domestic bliss kinda couple, cuz they actually squabble a looooot. They’re squabbly! But like, sitcom-style squabbly. Rarijack level squabbly. Where the stakes are always relatively low and feelings are rarely actually hurt, because Bob and Toff do genuinely love and respect one another. But Bob can be uncouth and obstinate, while Toffee can be fussy and particular and honestly almost as stubborn as his burly beaver man. So they butt heads, and they squabble. But even this has an element of affection to it, because Toffee has, throughout his life, rarely felt safe expressing his true wants and feelings. To be able to disagree, and even openly argue with Bob means Bob makes him feel very safe indeed.

Sometimes they end up compromising. Sometimes Bob gets his way. But most of the time, dear reader, Bob caves and gives Toffee whatever he wants, because he’s a big dumb simp for his tall twiggy dog man. One hit of puppy dog eyes is all it takes to shatter Bob’s resolve like glass. Toffee knows this, Bob knows this. It’s Toffee’s world, Bobby, dear. You just live in it~
