Ok but the trash fashion is so cool, it reminds to this comic "Trash Mermaid" it's about a mermaid and her life in the sadly very contaminated actual ocean, and how use the trash like a trashy lover Ariel 🤣. Oh but actually Katie would have made a good point, cuz usually women can't show their boobs in public beaches (just nudist ones) BUT if she doesn't have nipples why cover the chest area right? But also it would rise the question "so male mammals can show their boobs in the beach but female mammals not? To this day I ship the 3 of them and I can’t figure out why because it’s not in the typical romantic ship way lol In my head Cass and Katie have had many casual hook ups and are in a nebulous “besties-with-benefits” thing but they’ve never felt the need to label what they do and it’s always been there since they met Then Brooke enters, and she and Cass eventually enter their own hook up relationship that is like 80% Cass teasing Brooke about her crush on Katie until they fall into bed to have frustrated charged up sex Then Katie and Brooke feel The Love, but Cass is kind of an unofficial third even when their relationship turns romantic Idk my dumb shippy brain hasn’t worked out the details but know that I have named them the seaside sapphics and I ship the 3 of them

Katie is pretty popular with her fellow marine animal peers (and mostly feared by land creatures), so Brooke really oughta get a move on. Katie gets approached/hit on quite a lot, buuuut generally she fails to pick up on flirty subtext unless someone is extremely blunt with her. In which case, she's pretty down for casual hookups. Cass would wingman for Brooke if Brooke wasn't such a stuck-up prissy butthole, for now it's more fun for Cass to watch Brooke flounder (pun intended). Katie doesn't recognize Brooke's obvious crushing and just thinks said pink dolphin is weirdly intense and panicky. Katie likes Brooke okay, especially the rare times Brooke manages to RELAX and show her goofier, sweeter side.

I now choose to believe she drinks and eats with this method in other facets of life, with this being the most socially appropriate application. (Imagine her pouring a smoothie on her face to enjoy a bit of coolness before slurping it down, *then* imagine her doing the same with one of Cass' mixup pizza slices.) More seriously, it isn’t surprising for her and Cass to be uncomfortably hot, given they're both from much colder climates— What IS surprising is that Cass is still wearing a variation of her usual jacket over the vest (unless it's a bunch of icepacks..) That's commitment to the aesthetic right there!

[On whales/dolphins carrying water Honestly the juxtaposition of real-world practicality makes this funnier, and slants towards her characterization as intensely self-punitive. Carrying water in her blowhole (when she has alternative means of breathing, with the assumption that this is like filling your cheeks with water but on a larger scale) adds weight to her body and likely adds to the drag force in swimming, thus making it more of a workout. Conversely, if it was incidental, the closest comparison would be that scene in Incredibles 2 with the water glass.
