Gorgeous art a side cuz wow she's so pretty 💖 Skye, my darling, baby, really? Internet fights?🤣 I remember "fighting" like 2 or 3 times because it was really offensive and delicate themes for me, but then I drop it like after 4 replies cuz I wasn't ruin my day with an asshole comment when I have more kind and sweet comments. I never understand the people that do that for fun like Skye it seems too much stress I just block people it's easier, but I guess some thrive in chaos? 😅

Ufff I have seen some arguments, whole post of 10 replies of "info" cancelling someone or just "exposing crimes", or why you should hate certain person and is WOW that's a lot of hate 😬 and then tik tok with the videos is even more dramatic and violent I think, honestly how people don't get tired of that? Hating is tiring, and isn't like justice, debate, or takes that actually help people to understand something complex, the topics of those fights are almost always the most petty, childish, hateful, ignorant ever 😅

Social justic, politics, and current events, largely. Skye uses both text (eg. twitter, tumblr) and video (tiktok) formats partly as a vehicle for meaningful discussion and progressive activism, buuuuuut also as a means of extreme moralizing and presenting herself as a supreme authority on all matters, the absolute best and most unproblematic goodest girl. She can get a little aggressive about calling out bad behavior, and sees no problem in doing something like filming and berating someone for not donating to charity when prompted at the grocery store checkout. She's quick to point out the flaws in the activism of others (eg. She would criticize a grassroots pollution clean-up campaign for failing to enact legislation to kill corporate pollution at the source) never hesitates to add her voice to an overpopulated conversation, and tbh, probably secretly follows a lot of mean-spirited reactionary content documenting the lives of controversial internet personalities. She also writes a TON of deliberate ragebait content for her job, such as top 10 harmless reasons women should DIVORCE THEIR HUSBANDS. Skye is a bit of the typical stereotype of an internet "social justice warrior"/angry feminist, except she genuinely loves what she does and is having a ball pissing people off. :3

Who is "better" is entirely subjective, and not really what I'm interested in showcasing. Skye definitely believes herself to be morally superior to Honey, because unlike Honey she is not an open bigot and derives most of her opinions from a place of education and research, rather than regurgitating the harmful rhetoric of a childhood church. Skye's main crime is being insufferable at times, bossy, domineering, and opinionated, but this does not negate the fact that she cares about people besides herself and works to make the world a better place. She's a journalist and an influencer and raises quite a lot of money for charities through her job. Honey is Skye's character foil, thus she is far more outwardly sweet and mild and palatable- at first. In truth her sweet candy coating conceals a nasty core of ignorance and casual, thoughtless bigotry (...and even intentional bigotry). At the same time, Honey CAN be genuinely nice and is CAPABLE of learning and growing more tolerant. Skye is largely kind and thoughtful, but can be just as obsessive, jealous, stubborn, and condescending as Honey. They are reflections of each other, their qualities overlap in many areas. Who is "better" depends largely on whether or not you identify with their respective politics and values. I care more about them being fun to draw and write, which means that they're both, in their own unique way, kinda nuts. :3

Not defending Skye, but it's actually not true that grocery stores use customer donations to get tax breaks. American tax law says that the store may not include donations from the consumer as part of it's business receipts, meaning the donation cannot be claimed on the store's income taxes. The grocery store only serves as a collection agent for your gift. In fact, you can use the donation on your check-out receipt to claim it as a charitable deduction when you file your own income tax return. :3 Most people don't though.

Oh amazing, Skye just jumped up in a list of deeply obnoxious people to me (filming people in public is such a specific Itch to me). Not a bad thing obviously, love realistic character flaws. I’m curious though, with her activism, how does that align with her ex cop partner? Did that kind of thing ever come up?

Skye loves that Sunny is an ex-cop. How touching and inspiring that her handsome woofsie-pup witnessed the brutal unchecked authoritarianism and flagrant corruption of the police institution and decided to quit to better serve the public as a garbage man! She's so proud of her brave, fluffy pupcake for taking a stand against injustice like that! <3 Meanwhile, Sunny, who was actually fired from the force, is listening to her gush like 😀

Sunny meant to be honest about his past, really! But now he's in too deep, and while it might be assumed he's afraid of Skye's wrath, really he'd just rather fling himself off a cliff than ever disappoint his beloved fluffy woofy goldberg, especially over an ugly time in his life he'd rather forget. He tries to be a good person now, a person worth her admiration, and crams the guilt way, waaaay deep down.

In her day to day life, Skye works an office job under a controlling boss (Gigi) whom she constantly has to appease and play nice with. Online she is free to let out all her pent-up frustration! Which sometimes means telling an aspiring teen tradwife to shut up while the grown-ups are talking <3, or kindly advising a transphobe to kill- ahem, unalive themselves, preferably via cactus inserted violently into a vital bodily cavity. <3

Oh yeah I remember in another drawing you mentioned that she worked for Gigi, and also if my memory isn't failing me, you write that Gigi in all her sweet and conscious personas (in social stuff, uplift the little ones, civil rights, queer topics, minorities, etc) she's actually the environment of toxic girlboss? Like for example how people let say use any social movement to make money and don't even believe on it, and even do a half ass job, like companies do in June for Pride Month. I think that would make her so interesting in the sense that people especially women tend to have a glorified vision of these type of ladies in power positions, like it's true if the problematic boss was a man, people would call him strict, tough and intrepid boss, but never cruel, abusive or greedy. But I notice that many women in power tend to think that they need to be like those horrible men to "win", or just don't care at all because "that's the system" and many times they say "it's sexism" no, you are being just like the rest, applying the "mente de tiburón" it means "shark mind" is a saying that the brutal capitalist system rich business people believe, it's like you have to be a cruel and do whatever it takes to make money, even if it's hurting other,not having morals, and basically doing legal crimes. So I think it's intriguing, does Skye knows or suspect of the not so true progressive nature of her boss? Or the hate that Skye feels is more because outside public eye, in her office, Gigi is just a uncomfortable to be around boss? So it's more personal, like the type you have to be a yes-man because the boss doesn't listen to nobody?
