"If you keep this up, we're going to need to re-nyah-gotiate our marital status."

"Aw, don't be like that, sugar! You know I'm only.....kitten around~"

"I want a divorce."

Thibodeaux (Tibbs for short) and his stupid catboy husband Perry (who unfortunately, remains the love of his life). Just a doodle to lock down their personalities and designs. Tibbs is a big scary metalhead with a voice like gravel, Perry is a teeny cowboy that manages to be 50% charming, 50% annoying. They're in their thirties and have been together for around ten years (married for half of that).

I see your Good Omens reference. I see it. (I imagine Perry would 100% own a "save a horse, ride a cowboy" shirt but only wears it as PJs -- not because he had any sense of shame, because he absolutely doesn't, but because that advertises him as a dom and/or bottom, the first of which he is not and the second of which he cannot be if he wants his lungs to remain uncrushed)

lopoddity

I've never seen Good Omens. I did swipe a line from an old Jenna Marbles video tho :3 Tibbs rolls over in his sleep on top of Perry one night, killing him instantly

Colbyr

Horny warning! Perry has often promised Tibbs that he could suffocate him and Perry would thank him for it. He just didn't think it would be like this.

TheTabbyBadger

I was hoping for a lynx and I love him 😭 (i love them both!)

feathermaws

Tibbs is like “it had to be him”

feathermaws

Also gives me “He might be a dumb ass but he’s my dumbass vibes”

Robo87

oh no

Robo87

So thanks to you now these two will consume me. You do this to me on purpose I know it! >:O .......Perry absouletly LOVES brushing and braiding Tibbs' luscious mane, especially after a stressful day. Grooming is actually a big part of their relationship (thanks to Perry's dumb cat boi affection instincts) and Perry will roll over and purr like a drugged up kitten when his hubby returns the favor

Robo87

(I blame you COMPLETELY. I hope you're proud of yourself. I have a full time job I hope you know. *chucks my dumb hcs at you*) -Though Perry seems to be the sillier of the pair (and he IS. Bad puns, visual humor, dad jokes), Tibbs has a much sublter and dryer sense of humor (though occasionally he'll pop a dumb pun like "time to get hog wild" out of nowhere and Perry SWOONS) and though he'll pretend otherwise, he honestly finds his mate hilarious. He may be the only one -(for funsie brainstorm) Since Perry is Paradox's expo....thinking maybe he and Penny are possibly cousins as well as "vicious" rivals? Like one of Penny's MANY aunts kind of shocked everyone when she took off with a handsome lynx and popped out a kitten with him. (Imagine a single lynx cub in a picture of INSANE amount of lemurs XD ) Penny and Perry grew up in this huge family and I think were maybe childhood friends, being the closest in age and alike in personality. Perhaps somewhere in their teens or early adult they had some kind of rift happen and turned into rivials instead? (and their rivalry is a way to mask them both actually secretly missing each other? And also they are competative AF and the other is going DOWN!) OR, they took one look at each other as kids and just...."Yep, I hate that bitch", and their rivalry developed when they were young ?

lopoddity

Tibbs: You're an idiot Perry: I'm YOUR idiot. *gleefully flashes his wedding ring* FOREVER! >:3

....*eye twitch* Dunno if you've put much thought into if Fuzzbutts would have some kind of military, but maaaybe Tibbs is an ex-solider or something simular? He's MUCH happier running his B&B and baking with his love...but he does have his bad days sometimes

lopoddity

Iiiiiii don't know about military, but I was thinking maybe Perry used to be a young up-and-coming politician, and Tibbs was on his security detail (basically his bodyguard, since Perry's platform of equality for all earned him lots of enemies), orrrrrr Perry was a teacher at a prestigious private school for young carnivores, with Tibbs being a security guard there. Either way, a hell of a scandal breaks out when its discovered a high profile predator is consorting with prey, and Perry and Tibbs undergo a whole lot of harassment. Tibbs protects Perry as best as he can, but love is not enough when you're up against a sea of public scorn. In Politician!Perry story, an anonymous arsonist burns Perry's house down, traumatizing him, and in Teacher!Perry story, he's made to attend a hearing where his students' parents tear into him and demand he be fired. In whichever story, both Perry and Tibbs lose their jobs, and are at a loss over what to do next. Ultimately, though, their struggles only reinforce their bond, they get more involved in local grassroots political work, and they decide to open the bed and breakfast, which doubles as a halfway home for queer folk and touts acceptance and comfort as a selling point. It's become a must-visit spot for many a pred/prey couple, as they can relax and be a bit more open there, sharing space with other pred/prey couples.....as opposed to their daily lives, where they're often forced to be more discreet.

lopoddity

bonus for u: Tibb's tusks make very convenient grabbable handles for Perry to yank his hogsband into a big ol smooch or rope him into some dumb adventure (ok really it's just perry fruitlessly tugging until tibbs decides to budge, but just let perry have this)

Dean

Personally, I prefer the teacher!Perry story myself. Not sure I can word very well why, buuut maybe it seems a bit more relatable (though I do have the house fire experience for the other one, LMAO) for it to be a more personal experience. The idea of an arsonist is big, it's dramatic, and house fires are....numbingly terrifying, it goes so fast you just end up whirling through it until you get back to remains of the house, still damp from the hose water and the soot sloshing around underfoot in thick puddles. Mini trauma dump aside, an arsonist doesn't convey the full weight of societal oppression very well in my opinion. Teacher route however does this better I feel. Instead of it being able to be played as one crazy fucknut with a lighter and a jerrycan, it's a series of people. It's students whispering in the hallways, questioning stares from the other teaching staff, and then finally being called in to talk with the Principal or whoever his supervisor may be. It's cold, hard bureaucracy at work. Multiple hearings, interviews, getting harassed by uppity rich parents. In this version it feels much...bigger, wider, systemic. The claustrophobic feel of people turning on you, your friends and colleagues and even the students turning away from you? Ouch.

lopoddity

Wellll, this is really my fault for not conveying it properly, but I meant for the arsonist to not be so much as a lone actor, but more like….a particularly emboldened member of an already angry populace. Sort of like how the American “Proud Boys” aren’t just a handful of random nutjobs, but rather just the loudest and boldest of a much larger, quieter, hateful demographic. Perry would have already been receiving harassment and even death threats before the arson incident. That said! I like your notes, and I think your criticism is valid. Arson does feel a bit too hmmmm….like you said, impersonal. Melodramatic? It never felt quite “right”, so I’m glad you spoke up, you’ve hit the nail right on the head. :) The teacher route works better, and I can write it more authentically, since I’ve been a teacher. In my experiences, school administration likes to take the easiest solution when a problem arises, which in this case would probably be to fire Tibbs and claim Perry had a “lapse in judgement” that’s since been resolved. After all, Perry is a highly trained educator, much more difficult to replace than Tibbs, a “lowly” security guard. Perhaps the school moves to terminate Tibbs, but Perry takes a stand, threatening to walk if they do so. Unfortunately he’s overplayed his hand. The principal was a little sympathetic to Perry (who among us hasn’t indulged in a foolish flight of fancy with prey?), but the parents have her backed up against a corner, and no way is she risking her position (and the school’s integrity) for one teacher. Perry, now a target for ridicule and harassment by the community, argues that society won’t change unless people are brave enough to take a stand, that she and the other administrators will set a good example for the students by doing the right thing (even if it’s hard!). The principal tiredly says that’s a nice sentiment……now be sure to have your classroom cleared out by noon tomorrow. It’s a difficult situation all around, made worse by the fact that other local schools consider Perry too scandalous and deviant to employ. It’s Tibbs who proposes they end their relationship, as it’s caused nothing but trouble….and both of them do seriously consider it. But ultimately, neither can pull the plug. Because their relationship was never about some perverse, socially aberrant fantasy (like the parents claimed), or about proving something (like the principal thought), but just the simple fact that they like being around each other, and don’t want to stop. And who’s to say it was all for nothing? Perhaps many years later, one of Perry’s old students visits the bed and breakfast. She says she just HAD to come visit once she learned about it. She’s a small wolverine, timidly holding the hand of her girlfriend, a moose. Their parents don’t approve, but it's comforting to know they aren’t alone? To say Perry was touched would be an understatement, and Tibbs might’ve tried to drown the girls in blueberry pancakes.

Bigsmile

I imagine Tibbs with an absurdly low voice, like gargling gravel with hot sauce low..... Look up 'Disco Elysium Narator' and that is the voice for Tibbs.

lopoddity

I'm torn between whether he'd have a gravelly voice or kind of a funnier deep voice, like Patrick Warburton. Less Kronk tho, more Brock Sampson

Bigsmile

If Tibbs is the dry humor to Perry's nonsense the drier the better I say! Andre Brougher maybe? Though all options you got are solid for sure EDIT: JUST REMEMBERED WHO BROCK SAMSON IS!

Scyllarus

I'm always weak for the straightman/funnyman dynamic, so I adore this. I do have to ask, though - In general I can see where some of the prejudice comes from with pred/prey relationships, especially in ones where the predator is, well, the more physically imposing. But in this case, it seems a little odd for society to care as much - Tibbs is like. Four times Perry's size, plus boar aren't exactly timid animals...I guess what I'm really wondering is how people deal with the messy lines of omnivory, prey animals that may not *eat* other animals but also pretty much never need to worry about predation (I remember seeing something about how things like elephants have a particular privilege in that regard), or predators that are too small to avoid predation from other predators (ie, cats, foxes, etc).

lopoddity

Oh! I'm sorry, I thought I explained that already, but looking back I have not. The stigma against pred/prey relationships is.....fluid, if that makes sense. The concern here isn't that Perry will eat or harm Tibbs (he couldn't even if he wanted to), but rather that Perry is EMBARRASSING himself with this relationship. Predators are supposed to be dominating, powerful, and dignified. Perry should be with a predator his size or larger.....not a pig. A small predator fraternizing with a massive prey animal is seen as hiiiighly undignified, cringe-worthy even. It makes Perry look small and pathetic, a poor excuse for a predator, letting a prey animal lord its power over HIM. (Tibbs of course doesn't do any lording at all, their relationship is very equal, but people make a lot of kneejerk assumptions.) At best, Perry is seen as a dumb...."simp", for lack of a better word.....and at worst, he and Tibbs are seen as perverts, indulging in some odd pred/prey powerplay fetish. (Again, not the case, although what society decries as a cheap fetish is actually much, MUCH more common than anybody wants to admit. Predators and prey are people and naturally want to intermingle. Some of it is indeed fetishistic interest, but predators and prey do fall in love sometimes). Idk if I'm doing the best job explaining it, but Perry and Tibbs face a unique sort of stigma, where Perry is the one shouldering most of the social scrutiny. In an unfortunate sort of double standard, Tibbs tends to get approval from other prey animals ("Congrats on making a pred your bitch!"), which deeply upsets and irritates him, because Perry is his equal, and always has been. On the issue of omnivore citizens and unusual predators and prey, well, that is a messy issue. I'm sure you're as well aware as I that while society likes to set black and white rigid social parameters, people rarely fit neatly into boxes. This is also the case for Fuzzbutts. Tibbs himself is omnivorous, but the average citizen might not know boars like to eat eggs and the occasional bit of meat. I don't have time to get into the matter atm (I'm actually packing for a roadtrip!), but I hope to answer your question in full soon. :3

Scyllarus

Ahh!!! Have a good, safe trip! And thanks for the explanation - I figured it had to be a complex issue but I wasn't sure if I had missed an explanation somewhere or what, haha. (And as an aside, I feel u Tibbs. Someone made a comment about how I must be the one running the relationship and I was suddenly and irrationally angry - when I thought about it later, I realized I was just...mad that people think that my husband doesn't fully and equally contribute to our home. Yeah, he's a big doofus, but he's also a wonderful house husband and dad to our dogs. Don't you dare pull the "dumb incompetent man" trope on me.)
