Okay moment over Idk WHY I thought merBruce would be bigger then normal Bruce. I think the shark bit threw me. Like part great white shark...big shark. Big mermaid. Im just dying that Brucie is still fucking pocket sized little guppy that Stormy can just scoop up and carry around I am HERE for it Terror of the seas...death from below...stalker in the black waters of fear....*is cradled tenderly in Stormy's arms as he carries him around the beach humming, singing, and endlessly rambling about land-things*

LOGICALLY I know Stormy’s wetsuit says “Aero” but it LOOKS like it says “hero” the way the A is being partially blocked lmao I love this au though I hope you keep playing with it even after mermay is over! I’m a sucker for big teeth and they look super good on Bruce! 😁

'still figuring out context' p l e a s e context is just 'gay' that's all the context u need... This being said, surfer!stormy is out catching waves one morning and heard some violent splashing water behind that rock over yonder, when he goes to see what's up he finds Brucie tangled up in a fishing net or something that requires outside help to escape. Despite the gnashing teeth and threats to rip his throat out, stormy just hums and says 'ok. Hold still now ' and cuts him free, and of course the entire time Bruce is wondering if he actually has to follow up on that threat to kill stormy now that he's been seen (assuming you're going with the typical 'landies can't know of the sea peoples' existence' route) but suddenly Aero is picking him up out of the last of the net to return him to the sea and Bruce is so taken aback by this absolute idiot with NO sense of self-preservation bringing Bruce's big scary teeth within chomping distance of his neck that he's too dumbfounded to actually do anything. And stormy, smiling down at Bruce like the dumb hippie he is, just says 'dont worry, your secret is safe with me' like his biggest worry is about Bruce instead of the life-ending teeth inches from his throat (bonus points if Bruce has seen stormy surfing or in/around the water before all this and thought, so deep down he doesn't realize it until he's staring into Stormy's eyes, that he'd maybe like to meet that pretty guy and see what's up)

I love this to pieces but I'm just dyyyyying at the thought of BRUCE having a dramatic "Little Mermaid" style part of your world moment watching Stormy in the distance "Uh...Brucie were you just sing-" "NO FUKIN SOD OFF YA GODDAMN SEA MONKEY" Oooh but I also quite like the idea of a "Luca-esce" world where some merponies can naturally morph to life on land when they're above the surface

Pearlie in this AU is like a mix of Ariel's Flounder and Sebastian, both encouraging but incredibly teasing and a little belittling about it

AWwww I can rlly see Bruce being a like "let me show u how beautiful the ocean is ya fuckin airhead" kind of guide to Stormy too who only knows it from being a Surfer , shows him little lagoons and reefs as they get ~close~

Gaaaasp I'm now imaging like the two having a semi-friendly rivalry or something (absouletly no ust here no sir and they certainly don't have long standing crushes on the other) and one day Bruce gets into trouble getting knocked into water and Stormy of all people is the one to rescue him and oops oh yeah I'm a frikin merpony and oh dumb pretty hippie rival is actually a really cool dude and woooow his eyes are even prettier up close hahaha HALP
