In present day Fuzzbutts, Virgil and Angel are definitely business partners, though the exact specifics of what that means, and what their bond actually is, is (likely deliberately) pretty ambiguous. Leave Angel alone, Virg. His shop doesn't run itself.

idk how clear this is, so to clarify, Angel is saying a shortened version of "I wouldn't fuck you with a stolen dick" I.e. No thanks, not interested, good day sir

Ah I'm getting so many IDEAS about Angel now but I'm trying to rein it in until I see more of what you have planned for him XD (one idea is that he became a sort of black market mentor to Virg at first that eventually formed into their partnership. Virgil will still refer to him as his "sensei" or along those lines when he's being obnoxious and flirty. Angel retorts at least Virg understands who the alpha is of the pair) Also is Virgil back to being a normal spotted hyena and not cave? Gotta admit no matter what his race he is a pretty, pretty boi ❤

Oooh my boys! I think when I very first followed you years ago on DA it was just when you were starting chakra’s story arc and I remember loving his character and later on Noct and Prim. As the characters who got me interested in the pandora verse I’m so glad to see them here. I’m assuming Virgil lost or quit his paramedic job after…. Whatever happened. I wonder what Virgil does, can’t see him running the front desk taking calls. I can’t wait to find out more about these two! (Btw they look so good, I love Virgil’s hair and mane here and his grin is just perfect. Angel’s tattoos are so gorgeous. I can’t wait to find out about his past the meaning behind them. How does a tattoo shop work in the fuzzbutt universe? Do only furless animals get tattoos or could other animals shave down fur to get skin tattooed? Trying to figure how lucrative a tattoo parlor would do in a world with mostly furred animals

yep, i'm FINALLY at a point where my life isn't 100% work stress/personal stress/absolute chaos all the time. I finally have time to chill and sleep and draw, so I'm gonna take advantage for as long as it lasts~

I had something similar in mind >:3 At the very least, Angel is the older (smarter) and more experienced of the pair. Virgil is still a cave hyena, he's just leaning against the wall. He's still much larger/taller than Angel, who only comes up to Virgil's chest. I fudged Angel's height for a nicer composition, pretend he's standing on a box. XD

Ok...but....what if he actually does that to sometimes to assert domiance? XDDD Like my Mossy is a mid-sized lap mix and was raised with my mother's dachshunds, and as soon as he got taller then them anytime they wanted to remind him who was the boss they would hop on the nearest tallest surface that made them face level and stare him down. It was HILARIOUS and it worked everytime Oh gosh the short jokes Virgil has stored up. I feel their dynamic at times could be summed up like this Angel: I could STRANGLE you Virgil: Kinky, but you're not tall enough ;) Angel: You've sunk low enough for me to reach

Thank you! :D I'm glad you enjoyed Chakra and Noct, their storyline always was (and still is) one of my favorites to fiddle with. Virgil is definitely not a paramedic anymore (the pay was shit anyway, he doesn't miss it), though that particular set of skills does aid him nicely in his current line of work. I'm glad you asked! Tattooing is not really feasible as a full-time career, not for most artists, anyway. With mammals, tattoos have to be done on patches of shaved skin, or areas where the fur is sparse (such as the inner ear). The good news is this makes tattoos easy to conceal (don't like any old tatt? just grow the fur back out to cover it up!), the bad news is it makes them a pain to upkeep, as the tattooed area requires regular shaving and protection from the sun. Reptile scales fair a bit better, though the tatts are still lost when the reptile molts its skin. As a result, tatts are not especially popular outside of dedicated inkoholics. Angel is lucky in that he's a naturally hairless dog, so he was able to get a complex, detailed tattoo that doesn't require excessive upkeep. Although he gets the odd furry/feathery client, the bulk of his clientele are animals that have little to no hair. Tatts are a hard sell to most critters, so while Angel loves tattooing, it's just one branch of his main job. Angel is a body artist. Tattoos, piercings, scarification, body mods- you name it, he can do it. Rather than tattoos, most mammals opt to have patterns shaved into their fur, with paint or dye used to lend color. Piercings in soft tissue are probably the most common mod Angel performs, while his more hardcore clients opt to have their ears notched/docked, tongues split, and designs cut into their hides (scarification) or burned into their coats with hot metal (branding). Angel has carved beautiful, intricate design work into the horns of rhinos, he's carved horse hooves to set gems inside, he's made ornaments and jewelry out of shed reptile skins, antlers, and horns. He truly does love his line of work and is a fairly sought-after artist. Besides body mods, Angel also paints murals, dabbles in mechanical work, and does record-keeping and various odd jobs for Virgil.

The business they do together is typically shady and dubious, though Virgil will sometimes help out at Angel's body mod shop if he's (really) bored or laying low, as his medical knowledge lends itself well to helping out with tattoo-prepping or horn-carving.

I love that body-mod idea, especially with the horns and hooves etc. I never would have thought of it but it makes SO much sense in a universe like this! Great idea :D
