concept art for a character i'm tinkering with. If you wanna know his general vibe, just listen to like, a buttload of Voltaire. He needs a name! I'm thinking something Southern and old-timey, like Django or Obadiah or Atticus. Feel free to suggest names! :3

I adore this; he looks straight out of a Spaghetti Western!! 😍 Beauregard is always a good, puffed-up old-timey Southern name that comes to mind for me, and Clyde out be a good one as well!

It turns out if you look up old Southern names, you get a lot of Johns, Thomas, Williams and Richards (Source: Albion's Seed by Fischer). But if you wanted a name from a family that might have only had one book around for inspiration, I might suggest: Abaddon Absalom Boaz Barnabas Ephraim Issachar Shadrach

He also strikes me as a Rango (don't tango with Rango) Not exactly a southern name but I also like Jericho for him

I love the giant mane on the thin body. Also the legs are human proportions compared to the usual stubby legs of FB so I imagine he looks pretty weird to most folk in that world. I think the nickname Dick would work really well for him so maybe Richard as the name? Could make many jokes or flirty remarks about that too idk

Also Hell in a Handbasket is officially in my will to be played at my funeral Seriously the more I look at him the more obsessed I become. First, I ADORE real life coyotes, and also the native american myths and lore that come with them. My great grandmother was native American and got me hooked on all the old tales when I was a wee thing Secondly, WESTERNS. I grew up with farmers and cowboys and rodeo so watching Westerns since I was small is just part of the hick culture lol I am vibing SO HARD with his overall....everything Third, BEAUTIFULLY IMPECABLY DRESSED MORALLY DUBIOIS CHARMING BOIS WHO MIGHT ACTUALLY BE OLD STRATCH HIMSELF IM GOING FERAL. Like for all FB is grounded in relative reality and rules, you could tell me this guy is actually floating using the breath of the damned souls he stole and id be yeah that totally checks out

That's so funny, I originally envisioned him as a sailfin lizard! I ended up changing the species when I felt I couldn't get away with making him as tall as I wanted, as FB animals (mostly) correspond in size to their real life counterparts. I'm even kinda pushing it here, coyotes are often smaller than the average dog. I definitely want more reptiles in the cast tho

heheh i love cowboys too. :3 I actually 100% considered the name Sawyer, but wrote it off when I realized just how many "S" names I already have- Silver, Silas, Strawberry, Skye, Star, Shadow, Soup, Scallywag, Sunny, and Savannah- and that's not even all of them!
