As I mentioned here, Priscilla eventually gets the financial support to turn her amateur rinky-dink beauty salon into a full blown luxury boutique, complete with a spa. This upgrade means she needs more staff than just herself and Tadeo, so she recruits a small cluster of beauty professionals to help her hide the fact she has no idea what she's doing. (Oh god, who made her a boss?? Do her staff even like her??? Is she paying a fair wage adjusting for current inflation???? AGGJHAJHjhjh)

Meet Doris. One of Priscilla's very first hires, Doris is a mighty mandrill of a woman, a licensed masseuse with the power to pound even the tough muscles of an elephant into relaxed, blissful jelly. As Doris is in her late forties, she ends up taking a second-in-command position to young Priscilla, amusedly giving her management advice ("At the end of the day, you're their boss, not their friend") as well as the kind of general life advice that can only be given by a confident older woman that has seen and dealt with decades of bullshit. 

Doris is a queer trans woman. Mandrills exhibit a high degree of sexual dimorphism, with (cis) males having larger bodies, bigger canine teeth, and a flashy facial crest. Some transgender female mandrills opt for hormone therapy to dull their crests, but Doris feels no such desire. She is, to her delight, 100% at home within her own skin. She is strong and beefy, her crest is vivid and beautiful, her voice is low-pitched and rumbly- and she's all woman. Her confidence is what led to Pris hiring her on the spot. Sometimes Priscilla panics and wants to hide and let Doris handle running the salon- but Doris will just come upend whatever table Pris is hiding under and make her face her fears.
