been reading watership down for about the billionth time, so i've got bunnies on the brain! Miss Hutchworth is a small player in the world of Fuzzbutts, a kindly (if a bit nervous) demure doe that wants nothing more than to make the world a better place. Marnie is a primary school teacher at Dogdale Deaf Academy, located a hop, skip, and a jump away from Pawberry Acres.  Marnie is quite adept at sign language, and being a hearing individual herself, she is often tasked with being an interpreter for her students. She is pictured here on a campus forage with one of her shyer students, a young mole named Victor. We will see more of Marnie quite soon.

Beneath her polite exterior, Marnie hides a secret temper, various insecurities, and a steep tendency toward overthinking. Her true feelings are sometimes betrayed by her own involuntary rabbit behaviors ("thumping" or stamping her foot when irritated or startled, "binkying"- a spastic happy hop when excited).

I love how were slowly getting like a broader and deeper insight on Fuzzbuttz universe as we start to get characters that aren't very seemingly Pandoraverse counterparts and more like actual fresher and genuine members of the Fuzzbutt universe. I'm assuming Marnie is obviously somewhere related to Snowball and maybe Summer as well?

Oh my GOD Watership Down 😍😍😍 To this day one of my favorite novels EVER and one that shaped my reading so much when I was a wee whelp. I’ve watched every adaption made of it and I’m planning on getting a tattoo dedicated to the book one day Ah-HEM….now that I’m done making a complete nerd of myself….I LOVE THEM!! Victor is so precious and Marine is lovely!! I want to tuck Victor in my pocket and protect him from any and all harm

Also dumb af story but years ago I rescued domesticated rabbits when I was an animal foster, and I was in the outdoor pen with my newest bun (a young buck named Rex that somehow got mistaken as a doe at a breeding farm and proudly sired over 200 offspring before he was caught in the act and swiftly relocated to me) for the first time and he got so excited being in the grass he binkyied DIRECTLY into my face and I had a black eye for a week 🤣🤣

Thank you! :D And hmm, I wonder....

Dude, I love Watership Down so much I've been rereading it on loop since middle school. Fun-fact, the "Lop" part of my username is a rabbit reference that comes from my love of WD, I just smushed the word lop-eared and oddity together. :3

Ough little guy Victor. Would love to hear some notes on the guy who deserves a cuteness award.

FancylionFarts

She's so cute 🥺, I remember being obsessed with the darker parts of the movie and book as a weird kid 😂

I had alway heard the name Watership Down but never knew anything about it. I experienced significant whiplash when I learned very recently that it was not in fact some futuristic sci-fi thing but a fantasy book about a complex society of Rabbits Its definitely on my list to read ! I’m honestly surprised that I hadn’t read it before cause I feel like my school assigned every other surprisingly dark story with anthropomorphic animals 😅

Secret temper? Bunny violence! Let's GOOOOO!!! She willing to throw hands with the local Wolfpack bullies in town???

Let's seeee....Victor is very shy, and is usually more interested in reading books than playing with his peers. He's known to tuck his head into his turtleneck when nervous, as moles have an instinct to hide and burrow for safety. Victor is nearsighted and fully deaf. He communicates through sign language, though he has also been taught limited speech. His voice is quite small and squeaky! If Victor likes you, he'll give you a "gift", usually a pretty stone he found, or maybe a snail. Marnie has an entire desk full of Victor's presents for her.

A Father John Mulcahy might be a good coworker for her. Kind, positive, and always caring for others, especially children.

im going to hug him and give him snacks he is my son now.

It's honestly really neat to see another Watership enthusiast. I LOVE the book and the Tales of WSD sequel. It was my first novel as a child and my pee-brained self didn't even bat aj eye at the feature film and it's subsequent violence. I was actually trying to study and learn Lapine as a child and my parent were utterly confused lol. Even now I look back and remember Bigwig telling Woundwort "Silflay Hraka"/ "Eat Shit" and laugh.

Hey Lop, I hope you won't take offense but something I feel compelled to point out (disclaimer, not deaf or hard-of-hearing myself but very close to people who are) maybe consider changing "hearing impaired" to just deaf or hard-of-hearing. Hearing impaired can sometimes be considered offensive to deaf folk who don't necessarily see their deafness as an impairment. Love this character, loving all of this, I mean zero offense, just something I felt I need to mention. Thank you.

lopoddity

I'll take that into consideration, thank you. :) I used "hearing-impaired" as an umbrella term to include people with any and all degree of hearing loss, but I will be more mindful with my language in the future.
