Daisy does kinda exist in my story. :3 I figured if she were turned into a sapient anthro she’d be a wide-eyed conspiracy theorist (because she’s barks at EVERYTHING and stares into space sometimes like she sees a demon beyond my mortal perception). This became the inspiration for the character Mimi.

They’re easy enough to make and only need a few ingredients (flour, sugar, eggs, butter, lemons). :3 Personally I don’t really care for that chewy texture, I much prefer lemon cookies. Honey is a very talented baker, I just keep drawing her with lemon bars cuz they’re sweet and sunshiney and feel like something she’d make a lot.

Topher is such an excellently designed dude, I love him so much. I'm loving how he's such a foil to Honey too (granted, so is Skye, but it's weirdly more fitting coming from her own family? idk) and Toffee looks like such a gentle fella

Yep, he’s a springer spaniel. I’m cheating a bit with the designs for the sake of visual variety, even though it doesn’t make much sense breed-wise. Topher is based on a springer, Merry is an English cocker spaniel, Honey is a mashup of cocker spaniel and cavalier King Charles spaniel, Toffee is some sort of spaniel/shih tzu cross.

You were right in your first comment, Honey is a turd. ;3 She’s surprisingly fun to write and draw, and I like exploring her psychology, testing whether I can make her sympathetic, or at least understandable. It makes for a neat contrast for when I draw her being an intolerant little butthole. She honestly has a LOT of messed-up beliefs that she needs to unpack, “fixing” Honey is not as simple as her riding off into the sunset with a harem of lesbians. She’s a sexist, she feels justified policing the bodies and behaviors of other women, she’s a classist, she buys into the idea that poor people CHOOSE to be poor through their own laziness, she’s pretty intolerant of most people that do not fit into her narrow sanitized purview of acceptability, oh and she’s sheltered as FUCK. In the above scene with Topher she’s judgemental toward “addicts”, not realizing her own mother probably abuses at least one prescription drug in secret. Honey’s got a ton of growing to do, which is why I threw her Skye, Summer, and two older brothers (a good cop and a bad cop, so to speak), to start the wheels turning.

The continual disrespect to Honey's lemon bars is my new favorite running gag Topher and Toffee are delightful! I enjoy them both quite a lot- it's fascinating to see the similarities and differences between Merry's kids, and the different ways they reacted to/against his influence.

Toffee is a pastor. :3 He’s verrrrrry different from his father Merry. Merry injects his sermons with conservative politics, he quite likes making up boogeymen (eg. college liberals, atheists, queer people) for his congregation to fear (and thus donate more money for the church to combat). He preaches prosperity gospel, the idea that wealth is a a divine blessing that is granted only to the most devout, which is how he justifies profiting so much from his congregation. It’s simply the will of the Master, Merry says. He insists to his congregation that they too could be wealthy, all they have to do is donate fistfuls of cash to the church, and they shall be rewarded (….eventually. In some vague sense). To be perfectly clear, Merry is a scammer that preys on lonely, directionless people, often the elderly. Toffee is different. He wholly rejects prosperity gospel, believing instead that the role of the church is to aid the community, not profit from it. Toffee’s church places a heavy emphasis on food/housing programs for poor people, assisting families with medical debt, and guiding addicts toward recovery. Toffee’s church is one of complete acceptance and love, none of that “love the sinner, hate the sin” nonsense. His doors are welcome to everyone, with no caveats. This means he makes significantly less income than his father, and that his church is more of a, well….basement compared to Merry’s gleaming manicured fortress. But Toffee believes he’s doing the right thing. Merry can keep his money, Toffee would rather be up early making pancakes for hungry kids.

Oh that’s likely. Met and argued what constitutes classic rock for like two hours. A very heated argument in that Tibbs is an emotionless (yet playfully antagonizing) wall to Topher’s furious yapping. Perry listens with mild interest before asking if they’re done flirting, to which Topher gets flustered and storms off. Tibbs still claims he won the argument

I have to admit that my mental image was of Ms Daisy Dukes just. Murdering a pan of lemon bars. Bits of lemon curd dripping down her mustache, bits of crust in her fur. I'm sure Toffee is a bit more....genteel, but idek man, that mental image with an absolutely entranced Honey in the corner is sending me

I gotta question on everyone's favorite topic, religion! Does Topher still believe in the dog centric deity of "The Master " with a more inclusive approach to include everyone? Or has he converted to a new religion altogether? Like the pagan Pantheon Biscuit worships? I love worldbuilding tidbits on faith so I can ask a billion questions

Each time I start to feel some sort of sympathy for Honey, she goes on and says or does something like that. I'm half way convinced that she is not a dog but three garbage bags in a trench coat pretending to be a person.
