Hey Artnerds!

Yesterday was the Terrebonne Comic Con! This is my third year participating, and it is a free (both to the table and to the public) library comic con in Houma, Louisiana, generously organized by the library staff. This show is a favorite because the people are so kind!

This year, they opened up the Genealogy Room on the second floor and there were about four of us in there.

It was upstairs and out of the way, so foot traffic was terrible. A lot of the show (panel rooms, cosplay contest, many vendors) are downstairs, and a lot of Patrons don't realize there is MORE to the show upstairs! That said, several people made it a point to seek me out, and I really appreciate it!

I know that libraries sometimes have unusually sized tables, so I brought my own so that it would be easier to plan around.

The Genealogy room is large with huge, beautiful windows overlooking an outdoor amphitheatre and the bayou- we had a lovely view with plenty of sunlight to keep things cheerful.

Since I had so much space to stretch out, I decided to try out a Z table formation- something I've wanted to try for awhile, but haven't had the space at indoor shows, or the even ground at outdoor shows.

While sales were slow due to people not going upstairs or going into the Genealogy room, we sold ok, and I had a lot of fun! It was a joy to catch up with some old friends, a delight to make some new friends, and I even put together a mini portfolio of the Louisiana foods, since those are popular and we have many designs! These have labels to provide a little more context for things like roux and trinity. We had a few new products for the show, and explored new ways of showcasing existing products.

What's New:

A few new print designs, including a print celebrating art supplies and a print celebrating sewing notions.

New Christmas card designs

Acrylic Ornaments (Spicy, Mushroom, Louisiana, Flora)

Tote bags (Multi Mushroom, Frog, Shy Fly Agaric, Renn Faire Girl, and I have more, they're just not listed, so if you see a design you like, reach out to me!)

Lilliputian Living Les Petit Plaisirs de la Vie. Due to the title, people keep assuming it's in french, but its in English! My french is NOT strong enough to ever write in french, but I would LOVE to do a Cajun/Creole French illustrated dictionary!

I love this show and the folks in Terrebonne who come out, but I'm crossing my fingers for better placement next year!
