So Much Work in Progress! April 27th (Patreon)

Hey Artnerds!

It's been a busy month! The weather has been beautiful in Louisiana lately, not too hot yet, with lots of cool breezes, and bright sunny days, and that makes it a joy to go for walks and get some fresh air.

Lately time seems to just slip through my fingers- I blink, and almost an entire month has gone by. I haven't spent it being idle, but I do forget to come up for air and check in sometimes. If you ever wanna keep up with what I'm doing, I share Louisiana-y things (local news, Louisiana art) on Threads and more general art and WIPS over on Bsky

So what've I been working on?

Louisiana Alphabet:

Someone over on Threads suggested I turn my Louisiana series into an alphabet book. While I DO want to turn it into a book at some point, there are already several Louisiana alphabet books on the market, and I want to dive more into exploring my home's culture. It did spark the question of whether I have examples for every letter, and yall know me, I love an art challenge. While I do have most of the alphabet, I've also drawn some new entries to fill in those missing letters.

And a cute little Southern Toad that isn't for the alphabet, but they're native, and I love toads.

Upcoming Classes:

This May, I'm leading an Artlab on drawing native Louisiana wildflowers. I've created a lot of tutorials on drawing and painting flowers over the years, but of course I have to make this one special, so I'm focusing on Louisiana natives. I plan on sharing the presentation and the possible tutorial video with yall once it's ready!
