A Lot of Driving, Some Sketching, and Very Little Painting (Patreon)
Content
I went from a family trip that turned into a family emergency last weekend to driving for 10+ hours this weekend and I was absolutely fried when I got in last night.
A lazy Sunday morning sleeping in and surprisingly I am feeling ok- no Sjogren's joint locking or freezing, and I am ready to tackle some backlog.
And boy, is there backlog.
Class prep and demos to make, invoices to send, paperwork to fill out, packages to open on video and get sorted for later reviews, petcare to continue to do- being a Millenial eldest daughter in TWO families (my own and my in laws) sometimes means I just sleep at home, I don't do much else. I went from having almost infinite work hours in Nashville to all the ideas and no time to execute them here in Louisiana. I'm sure many of yall can relate- whether it's aging parents, disabled siblings, your own kiddos, your own disabilities, or a co-co-co-co-combo that TKO's your creativity. I feel like I can't say No when family needs me, but illness doesn't abide by hopes and dreams.
Any tips on balancing? I refuse to just let it all go.
Lately, when I HAVE time, its spent on the iPad (like I need more sketches...), doing small watercolors, or forever playing catchup. Little tiny projects do allow me to use scraps of time, but don't get me closer to my goals. Anxiety meds have helped a LOT, but it is still frustrating to feel like life (and organization) pass me by.
Ok, a deep breath. Pet a cat. Eat a snack. And let's dive back in.
