When you start something new, you're meant to be bad at it

That's why it's important to frame it as 'play' and have fun with it.

I don't make play and experimentation a part of my process as often as I'd like- partially because I'm a bit of a chicken and like to tackle new arts and crafts with a partner in crime- a playmate to bounce ideas off of.

But even though I don't play as much as I should, I still make plenty of meh pieces in my exploration of different materials, and I'm proud of all the things I've learned how to make.

Any craft worth making is worth making poorly thr first dozen times you're honing your skills, right?

None of these examples are meant to represent 'bad' attempts, but all are meant to represent play and a spirit of messing around and trying new things.

What are you playing with this week?

I love the idea of messing around and learning- at work in a leadership seminar someone said “FAIL” is just the First Attempt In Learning 🎉
