I've been teaching From Stick to Figure for almost two years now, and constructive figure drawing for longer, and there's one major leap in understanding that my students always seem to struggle with- that jump from stick figure to basic constructed figure.  The hiccup seems to be going from how How to Draw Manga books present figures (as ball jointed mannequins) to understanding the human body in volumetric forms.  I recorded this tutorial trying to bridge that gap using 3D manipulatives- I really hope it's successful!
