Paint with Me! ShinHan PWC Watercolor Fieldtest

Original Unbox and Swatch: Get Your Own: Join me in The Paintbox: Help support my work: Patreon: Kofi: Instagram: Webcomic: Store: Shownotes: PWC Fieldtest: Colors activate readily- reminds me a bit of Mijello watercolors, Half pans (filled from tubes) dont exhibit cracking, and aren't prone to falling out of the pans. Color is rich and saturated. Can be easily lifted back up (although not back to white, but up enough) while still wet. Colors seem generally very finely milled, and some are a bit opaque, which works decently well for layering in this instance. Colors are really saturated due to quick activation and fine granulation, and saturation control can be difficult, as you'll get a lot of color very fast. These would probably be great for folks who want to be done after just a couple layers. Colors mix together well- really clean mixes Pigment particles are really fine, so may fall out of solution quickly- remix your paints often. These pigments are so fine, they don't really disperse or granulate, but you can do some really gentle controlled ombre Really these are a delight to paint with Some colors are fairly opaque and may obscure inked linearts, so you may need to reink Pros: Very finely milled- won't get muddy Very easy to use Often more economical than more commonly available watercolors Quick to activate Really nice array of colors Cons: Very finely milled- not granulating Prone to staining paper Not commonly sold in the US Music: Kevin MacLeod: Tranquility Snow Drop Silver Blue Light

I’m so glad you gave these a try and enjoyed them! That’s a fantastic point you make about granulation vs. tiny faces; I’d never considered that. I know that when I use my PWC’s, I am never disappointed. I really like to use them in conjunction with my more mobile Qor colors in my abstract work as they give the Qor something to push into! Looks like you’ve got some great colors there!
