Hey Artnerds!

We're moving!  We did the final walkthrough on Monday, signed the papers Tuesday, and started moving in yesterday!  We're in kinda a weird halfway place now- we have the rental in Norco until the end of the month, I'm teaching a class in Ascension Parish this Saturday, and Joseph spent all Saturday and most of Sunday morning getting our furniture, books, and other non-essentials into a UHaul and into the new house.

So that means SOME of my art supplies are still in Norco, some of my art supplies are now in Destrehan, I don't have anything like a workspace set up in Destrehan, and I'm still working from Norco for the time being. Things are gonna be kinda weird, recording-wise, for a little while, and I've been working hard to get my in-progress stuff wrapped up, edited, and VO'd to share with yall.  I know moving in and getting set up will take a while, because I want to set up my dream art studio, and without an Ikea, it's going to be a challenge to find the sort of hutches, shelving, and display I've been wanting.

When I set up my temporary studio, I shared the process for that, which could be great inspiration for another apartment dweller who can't put holes in the walls, but this time, I can go all out and really make it great.  If yall would be interested, I'd love to share the process on that as well.  I'm also really excited because we have enough space (for now, pre-kids) for me to set up a convention/craft room and have my sewing machine out again.  For years, I've felt kinda...trapped working from a single room, so I also hope to set up a workstation in our living room so I can paint while hanging out with my family.

House hunting during the pandemic, the crazy house shortage, and the spiked housing prices was definitely a journey of several months, but I feel we really were fortunate, and I'm grateful we found the house for us as the prices were going back down.  I'm definitely eager to start making this our home and putting our mark on things!

I repeat myself with this, but I don't want anyone to say this came as a surprise: Moving into our forever home is definitely going to cause some disruptions to Patreon and Youtube, but I genuinely think that once I'm settled in, I'll be able to come back better than ever.  I'll probably do a vlog about what's going on to kinda catch people up, and may share vlogs as we get settled in and start tweaking the house, but regular reviews and tutorials may be a challenge.  I think I have a bunch of mechanical pencil reviews to share (perfect, since it's back to school for most folks!), and I do have a few finished but not yet released tutorials up my sleeve, but as always, I really appreciate yall's patience.

Unfortunately, there's nothing Backer Exclusive or Early Access to share this week, but I have a bunch of videos I'm going to share next week!

I would like to start doing tutorial and art thoughts blog posts here on Patreon for yall, and will definitely try to make that happen after the move!  Until then, when it's easy/convenient to do so, I'll share them as Twitter threads!  If you like the as Twitter threads, lemme know- I want to go with the format that's easiest for yall!

And sadly, while things are kinda up in the air, there won't be 7" Kara updates, but I promise, once things settle down, I'll resume updates!
