The Mardi Gras Queen (Patreon)

Happy Mardi Gras, yall!I've already shared the tutorial for this with Backers, but I wanted to share the finished illustration publicly to celebrate Mardi Gras!If you read 7" Kara, you probably recognize Naomi.  I almost always draw Naomi with Kara or Pancake, but this time, I thought she deserved the spotlight on her own, as the Queen of a Mardi Gras Ball.

I'm kinda surprised by how long this painting took- my editing app says it was originally over 10 hours- minus dry times.  I can't blame that on not having color comps though- this was a rare one where I spent some time figuring out my color zones and what colors I want in the dress and background.

I don't have the tutorial available to the public (Patrons only!), but this one was a difficult one to film.  Moulin du Roy already skews a bit larger than what I usually paint on, and I had a lot of ceramic palettes taking up desk space.
