Art Classes and the Upcoming Jambalaya Festival- Patreon Newsletter May 21st (Patreon)

Heeeyyyyy Artnerds!

I've been busy the past couple weeks, and wanted to share my adventures with yall!

Art Classes:

Since we last talked, I've taught three classes for kids and teens over in Ascension Parish.  Kawaii Art was a new class developed by request for Ascension Parish, and Patrons get backer-exclusive access to that on Monday.  Galaxy Bookmarks is a new watercolor class that focuses on wet-into-wet techniques to paint brilliant galaxies, and I'll be sharing the early access video and backer-exclusive presentation with yall soon (still in the process of getting the description somewhat populated).  Manga Madness is a popular class that I always struggle to teach in an hour session because there's so much to cover.  I tried addressing some of the timing issues by frontloading the facial construction, but I think I really need to pare things down and focus mostly on facial features, since these classes tend to skew so young.  I've also got the revised version scheduled to go out to Patrons this week!

I think my favorite parts of drawing classes are getting to do live demos- unfortunately hour long classes don't really allow for as much live drawing as I'd like!

It'd be just my luck that on the rainiest day, I have the hour long watercolor bookmark class!  The kids knocked it outta the park though, despite the humidity!

Coming up, I've got two adult watercolor classes in Ascension, including one where we're going to paint a watercolor floral together.  Obviously I'm going to need to prep for that and create a demo, so I'll keep yall posted!

Jambalaya Festival:

This weekend, I get to see my hard work come to fruition at the Jambalaya Festival.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how the art I created for them turned out.  I'm also looking forward to wrapping up the video about the process- the painting footage has been on my phone for two months!

Works In Progress:

Some of these are obviously done, many of them are done and edited, and some of them are even coming out this week!

Galaxy Bookmark:

The early access tutorial for this is coming out this week.  I'm also thinking of offering this as an all included art kit- paper, chipboard, enough paint for the project, and a brush.  What do yall think?  Are there any other tutorials I've done where you'd love to see a kit option?

Another 7" Kara page done.  This was at the end of a scene, so I recorded the painting process!  Nooot sure when I'll get around to editing that.

I reviewed CYS and Mairtini watercolors and found them both to be quite lacking.  I need to get the videos edited so yall can find out why!

I also FINALLY! got around to checking out the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau set.  I thought for sure I'd love this set- I love the colors.

I don't usually share too much of my sketching process- mostly because I like to sketch in Photoshop, and have difficulty capturing that in OBS!  But I've been working on some SUPER CUTE sketch to finish tutorials that I'm really excited to share with yall!  The mushroom one should be out in Early Access tomorrow, along with a printable lineart!

Just finished voicing the strawberry one- it's been rendered and uploaded, just need to schedule it out for yall.

The frog one turned out super cute- it might be the cutest frog I've ever drawn!  All of these mini projects will have a printable lineart for Patrons who want to just relax and color along (or want to put a new spin on it) as well as all the materials needed listed and linked out in the description when it goes live to the public.  I have ideas for a few more designs as well!  Which one is your fav?
