Hey Artnerds!

My mom's surgery is this Thursday, so if you're the praying type, I would appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers for a successful operation and a speedy recovery.

It almost feels weird to talk about what I will be working on next week with that on my plate, but this week, Art Squad Advanced is meeting early (Tuesday, rather than Thursday), and we're going to be carving erasers to make mini stamps!

I've also done a bit of painting and recording, so I'll have some things to edit while at the hospital this week.

This week, I'm going to work on You as a Lilliputian commissions from the Kickstarter! Depending on how this week goes, I hope to have something fun to show yall next Monday! If you live in Louisiana, the Terrebonne Comic Con is September 16th and 17th at the Main Library in Houma, Louisiana! We'll have a table there with comics, coloring books, and more goodies, and I'm also presenting a talk on character development. Admission is free, so if you're looking for something fun and nerdy to do that's family-friendly, come say hi!

What I've Been Working On:

Mijello field test:

I don't want to spoil the review, since I'm hoping to get it to you guys either this week or next week, but this is the first professional watercolor palette I've had the pleasure of reviewing in awhile, so of course, I had to fieldtest it. Keep an eye out for a twofer review!

Eraser Stamps:

Tomorrow we're carving erasers to make mini stamps in Art Squad Advanced! I'm putting together a little video about it to share with yall!

Bec and Basil Self Portrait:

To warm myself up for the You as a Lilliputian commissions, I finally painted my own portrait from last year. Look at cute lil Basil painting (note: the real Basil has not tried this activity yet, but I'd love to).

Artist Rants/Vlogs:

Two spicy rants that I don't want to spoil, but may need to spend extra time editing/reediting to make sure they come across the way I intend. As someone with perennial foot-in-mouth disease, I tend to say things that hit wrong, and that is not my intention with either of these vlogs. My goal for any of my rants is to provoke positive thought and perhaps inspire solidarity. These will require extra time to bake.

Trying out Dagger Brushes, Stonehenge's new Kraft paper, and Faber Castell Gelatos

I went by David's Art this week, and picked up some Stonehenge Kraft, Faber-Castell Gelatos, and some Dagger brushes. Initial tests are promising, and I look forward to exploring these more!

New Catprint proofs arrived!

And I'm pretty happy with them! I shared a flipthrough on Tiktok, Youtube, and Instagram, and went ahead and ordered the prints. I look forward to having them up in the Nattoshop at some point!
