Surprised it wasn't art supplies?

The holidays are hard on me- I think many of my neurodiv and broken home friends can relate. Every year, I try to find ways to make it easier- taking on fewer projects, saying 'No' to things that stress me out, trying to create and enforce boundaries.  Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is to make time to do something you enjoy, even when things get chaotic. 

First Art Squad of the New Year- Selling Your Art

I am SUPER excited to teach this workshop- this is a topic I've taught several times, and for years, I co-ran How to Be a Con Artist to help others interested in learning how to sell at conventions.  While I'm certainly not the best at it (the competition has gotten SO good in all sorts of ways), I do have a boatload of experience and have tried my hand at many different things.

To help me prepare, I set up a demo table and recorded the experience as a tutorial.  I will try to visit Dollar Tree and 5Below to show some affordable display and table decor.  This one is going to be annoying to edit, but I hope it inspires some folks! 

Goals for the New Year:

Keepin' it simple

Want to make more comics

Want to get into local wholesale

More library comic cons

Trust my gut- stop doing things that feel like they're going to be a bad fit

Another Art Supply Advent Calendar:

I'm currently working on my review of the Alkali Creek Advent Calendar.  Miranda knows I'm reviewing it, and spoiler:  I'm really enjoying it, but MAN am I struggling with the landscapes!  I need to do some watercolor landscape studies because this is such an area of weakness for me, and being more confident in painting landscapes would be useful when painting exterior scenes in 7" Kara.  While I'm familiar and comfortable with 1 and 2 point perspective, freehanding it in watercolor is HARD!
