The fact that this show was put together in just 2 weeks is unbelievable. Shout out to Rumi & Sir, who Beyoncé announced was pregnant with at the moment for this show to happen haha. I read a quick excerpt from an interview she did last year with the LA Times where she said:

“I really wanted to be there for music fans, and at the time there was all this excitement to be able to film bits of A Star Is Born at Coachella. But I only had two weeks [to prepare for the show],” she explained. “So to design a stage, to have it made, all of those things — I didn’t have the time to totally do what I really wanted to do,” she added. “I love music. I love performing. I love music fans. And I was so excited to film pieces of our movie there. So I did it, and I loved it. But you know when you have a vision in your mind of how you want to do something? It’s time to make it happen.

And made it happen she sure did this year...a few times haha. So this one is a little stripped back than what I've gotten used to in this deep dive, but my mind was still blown. She's one of the best performers of all time.

Lady Gaga - Coachella (2017) FIRST TIME REACTION

I think the reason it feels off is. with only two weeks notice, the audience won’t heavily be Little Monsters, therefore, she’s keeping her conversations a little more broad, a little more of an “every man” approach. To me, Coachella was used as a way to market Gaga (The Artist) in the direction of Joanne, alike the Super Bowl, not with shocks & weird thrills. Whereas with her new Coachella, she was able to bring back GAGA in full force.

I do remember during this time she was also filming A Star is Born, and she was singing her songs differently to not mess up her vocals for filming. I want to believe she just focused and delivering a good performance along with her band.

Jukey where have the twerks & body rolls come from, they’ve suddenly blessed a lot of recent videos ✨

Ugh I want to say a lot about Teeth but I'll wait until TFM era! 1. The Cure was an independent single that debuted at Coachella. Coachella happened before A Star is Born. It is rumored that The Cure was supposed to be Ally Maine's song (like "Heal Me" and "Why Did You Do That"). 2. The Million Reasons version she performed is indeed the Andrelli Remix, which also debuted at Coachella.

The deal to perform here, was linked to them being allowed to film scenes for A Star Is Born too!

I don’t think I can contain my excitement about the fact BTW is up next! 🥳🎉👏 You are going to love it - get ready to have your socks knocked off!

Thanks for being honest but understanding about this show being a bit messy compared to her normal caliber. It really does just go to show how insane her benchmark is because this was still a better show than most artists put on. Lowkey, I actually love how stripped back and raw it sounds, as it reminds me of The Fame Ball performances she would do back in 2008/2009. She was less experiences then and the budget was super low so she had a unique feeling of campy and intimate dive bar feel to her shows back then that I felt a little bit in this show. Anyways, thanks for the reaction as always, Jukey!! ❤️

Awwh I love this ☺️ To have the balls to accept headlining coachella two weeks in advance is crazy, actually mad that she can do a whole concert with choreo on a whim. She was at coachella to film a star is born at some point. Of course she wanted to help Bey too and who else could fill Beyoncé’s absence than Gaga I guess. Coachella is a big deal and great opportunity for artists but she still had to sacrifice doing it how she truly wanted and wait several years to be able to headline again. So glad that it all lead up to Mayhem in the desert!! 🤌🏼 Cant believe born this way is next 😵

I agree with what you said about her enery, something was a little bit off, but she killed it as usual :) You should react to The Cure, as someone mentioned this is a single that's not part of any album. Can't wait to see the BTW era.

I remember hearing The Cure on the radio that year and thinking who is this singer? I like her voice! Just to realize it was Gaga lol. I wish we had a music video for that one or made it into an album😢. I'm glad she got the oportunity to do Coachella again the way she wanted.

To me a lot of the Joanne era felt this way even though her “being a little disconnected” is even better than some people best lol like this is kinda why as much as I love even her halftime show and she killed it ngl. I would still say my top halftime show to this day is Shakira & jlo. lol and I’m a little monster saying this. But it’s okay to be honest even with the artists you love. Joanne to me is always ranked last in her discography. Ironically the first time I saw her live was Joanne Ball. And again incredible lol but you could tell from the setlist she was half in it. Mind you during the making of Coachella I’m sure she was still planning the Joanne ball, so it definitely was a lot going on
