👾Little Monsters, the time has come... we're officially entering The Fame Monster era!👾

Who's ready to RA-RA-AH-AH-AH with me? We just finished our time in the empowering glow of Born This Way. That era was a bold, anthemic celebration of identity and freedom. I've been told that this time of Gaga's career was a little bit darker... Bring it on!!

Drop your favorite Fame Monster track or memory in the comments. We'll be getting into all the music videos, live performances and more from this era. PAWS UP!!

« J’veux ton amour et je veux ta revanche » is « i want your love and i want your revenge » in french

Dylan

People always fail to realize that "Monster" is about toxic relationships and abusive men. 😬

Alejandro

Great video as always !!! can't wait for your reactions to the Monster Ball Tour 🙏🙏

Gaga and Beyoncé have two songs together : - Telephone - Video Phone (remix)

So glad you took the plunge and listened to The Fame Monster! It's such an experience, isn’t it?! So, each song really dives into different fears that Gaga wanted to explore. I’ll do my best to break it down: Bad Romance is all about the fear of love, particularly the kind where you’re so infatuated that you not only put up with the bad stuff, but you actually want it. It’s intense! Alejandro is about the fear of commitment. It’s like the anxiety of what they might do to possess her, which is a pretty relatable theme for many, I’d say! Monster looks into the fear of realising you might never find a safe, secure relationship. Speechless is the fear of losing someone you love, especially when they think they’re invincible. Gaga actually wrote it for her dad, who was facing heart issues before he finally went ahead with surgery. Dance in the Dark is about the fear of how public scrutiny can really mess with your insecurities. It’s like wanting to be free and private at the same time! Telephone is the fear of relationships where your freedom is always under threat. So Happy I Could Die - on the surface, it sounds upbeat, but it’s actually really dark. It’s about the fear of alcohol and what it can do to you, coupled with a fear of self-love that can tip into pride. If you listen closely, you can hear how she intentionally layered autotune to give it a sedated feel. Teeth plays on Gospel music! Obviously it’s about oral sex, but it’s also about confronting harsh truths and not shying away from them, I think. I’m so thrilled you loved Dance in the Dark! It’s definitely one that deserves more love beyond us little monsters! The ’silicone, saline’ etc is about body issues, and feeling the need to alter yourself to be in public. The lyrics are about a girl being afraid to have sex unless it’s in the dark: it’s about self-esteem and female empowerment. Can’t wait to see you react to the MVs and performances!

I started following her and being her fan with this album. I'd already heard her name but hadn't really taken the time to listen to her music. I remember watching the Bad Romance video and being completely hypnotized by her and the outfits. You're not ready for the monster ball, another incredible show. This album has great bangers and solidified her as a pop artist.

You’ve heard monster before at the Chromatica ball but maybe you didn’t remember. Maybe a chromatica ball re watch is a must lol cuz that performance was incredible in the show

Yess so good! The nostalgia is so strong on this one 😪 All the low monster like tones of her voice always get me and the fact she uses her voice in 100 different ways on just one song 😮‍💨 And the production always has such layered surprises I discover on my recent listens it’s just so rich and fun 🤌🏼 Sorry if you didn’t see my other comment Juke I’ll mention it here as well: Every music video through ‘The Fame Monster’ and ‘The Fame’ eras all have official little behind the scenes videos that you can watch with them. I’m sure you won’t want to miss the Telephone bts with Beyoncé as well!!

"Speechless" is about the fear of death and is a poignant plea for her father, Joseph Germanotta, who needed open-heart surgery, addressing his self-destructive lifestyle and her wish for him to live to see her grow up. The song, inspired by her personal experience, expresses Gaga's helplessness and despair at the possibility of losing her father, using references to alcohol consumption (such as "Johnnie Walker eyes") to illustrate her concern for his health.

I can NEVER decide which one is my favorite album - The Fame Monster or Born this Way. It basically changes every other month since both albums are such amazing works of art. The Fame Monster was the first album I listened to of hers so it's definitely close to my heart. Monster and Dance in the Dark are also one of my all-time favorites that just have such a special feeling about them to me. Really excited about the deep dive into this era!

"Dance in the Dark" was one of my favorites too! it was my Vegas song: catchy, vibrant, symphonizes the exciting aura with vegas lights & night sky. What really sealed the deal (for me at least) was the Brit Awards 2010 version - the same lyrics carry different weight when sung as a tribute.

I swear this album was my sexual awakening back in the day. Now I look at it as an adult even older than gaga at this point and I see it almost as a victory lap. She became the most famous woman in the world (after spending years obsessed with acquiring it) but she knew she would never let fame taint her morals and discernment, and she never did. I always loved how (in my eyes) the only song about fame on the album is Dance In The Dark. In that song she sings about the real fame monster which is truly letting others dictate how you live your life, in the end she set's not only herself free but she calls out to everyone else, lets all dance in the dark. I think that's why it's many a monster favourite gaga song.

When I recently heard her sing Speechless at the Mayhem ball, tears bursted out of my eyes! All time best ballad from her! This album alone shook pop and my way love for pop

I can’t wait for the Monster Ball Tour reaction 👀

I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS!! SOME OF HER BEST WORK xxx

As a bi woman that once had a crush on one of my close friends I always related to So Happy I Could Die because that's how I interpreted the song. "I know you won't love me like that but we're still friends"

Diego

You're in for a treat with the album. Dance in the dark is still a haunting favorite. She explains how this song is for the ones who have been mentally abused whom are scared to show their body and hear backlash and insults and of course name calls famous people who hid in the dark . The outtro beat is just triumphant

Elishya

At both my Mayhem ball show Gaga played Dance in the Dark on the piano as the surprise song. I also got Monster and Speechless as my encore song. This album is so incredible. Speechless - Gaga wrote for her father as she was begging him to get the heart surgery that he needed. Gaga also has said in many interviews that each song was a fear of the things she previously talked about on the fame, love, fame, sex ecttt ''Bad Romance'' (Fear of Love Monster) ''Alejandro'' (Fear of Men/Commitment Monster) ''Monster" (Fear of Sex/Relationships Monster). "Speechless" (Fear of Death/Loss Monster) "Dance In The Dark" (Fear of Judgment/Self Monster) "Telephone" (Fear of Suffocation/Oppression Monster) "So Happy I Could Die" (Fear of Addiction/Alcohol Monster) "Teeth" (Fear of Truth Monster) We love you Juke xoxoxox
