i think i remember seeing somewhere that the wolves were supposed to be a metaphor for paparazzi! i know we’re not supposed to put music on blast on headphones but i just can’t control myself whenever i play out of the woods, it’s just SO good, the background vocals she sings towards the end of the song are doing it for me, everytime

I think it’s beautiful how in the beginning of the video she’s scared of the woods, being chased by the wolves, and as the video progresses she kinda masters the woods, feels quite at home in them, and there’s a really cool scene where she is sort of leading the wolves, rather than running from them. Outstanding music video overall, she really did go HARD on those 1989 MVs.

I don’t know if anyone commented this but her line in the bridge “remember when you hit the brakes too soon, 20 stitches in the hospital room” is referenced to her ski vacation with Harry. And, when Taylor released the vaults for 1989 she said there’s some songs that are similar to the to ones that got into the og album. So the one that similar story wise to out of the woods “is it over now?” And in that song there’s also a reference to Harry with the line “blue dress on a boat”. Both this references has paparazzi footage so it’s interesting to see the reality of the imagination to these lines 😬

One day, you will sit down to react to the incredible music video “Look What You Made You Do” during the Reputation era. It’s very important you remember this blue dress because that video picks up where this one leaves off. Out of the Woods is one of my top 10 Taylor songs, it’s so phenomenal. And the bridge about her and Harry’s snow mobile crash is *chef’s kiss* - one of her best. I can’t wait for you to hear the Grammy museum version of it! She chose a blue dress because there is a famous picture of her all alone on the back of a boat in a blue dress when she left by herself from a vacation she and Harry were having together. She mentions it also in “Is It Over Now?” - 🎶blue dress, white boat🎶 I’ve posted that picture in your chat and I think others have too. Finally, I have the same Abbey Road/Peanuts shirt and I love it so much.

I hope you remember this dress from another dark beginning video…. 🤔 This video was actually about her relationship with Harry!! It’s funny that you should mention him right after this video. Harry used to wear a silver paper airplane necklace and he bought her one. That’s the necklace that she threw over the cliff. It was their snowmobile accident that she was talking about hitting the brakes too soon leading to 20 stitches in the hospital room. Taylor and Harry have videos that call and respond to each other. It’s so cute and romantic. 🥰
