Absolutely loving everything about this! Yay! Can't believe I got a shout-out in this one – I'm totally delighted and so excited that you've finally seen it. It’s such an iconic video, with some of her most legendary choreography. Those twitchy, zombie-like hand movements are just brilliant! So, the idea is that Gaga gets kidnapped by supermodels who drug her (hence the bug eyes – it's from using drops; there's a nod to this in the Disease music video with Mistress Mayhem having a bloodshot eye), and they sell her for sex in a bathhouse. But she takes back her power! I reckon it refers to The Burning Bed, a film starring Farrah Fawcett. The guy you might recognise is Yuri Bradac – a model and actor who's appeared in quite a few things you may have seen, especially music videos. Gaga mentioned in an interview that the video is a metaphor for how the music industry treats women like commodities/objectifies them.

They auctioned her off to the highest bidder. I wish the shot of the computers would be a bit longer cause many people seem to miss this. Makes me think of the Epstein files, women manipulating and prepping young women, getting them drunk and presenting them to Epstein and his friends to do with them what they pleased. To me the video is probably about the way women in the music industry are treated and objectified.

Love your Gaga deep dives! I can't believe we're almost done with all her albums... This is my interpretation of the video: In the beginning of the video Gaga comes out of a white coffin marked as MONSTER as a blind creature with a white pointy crown and a mouth. Coffins are often used as a symbol of death but in this video they represent re-birth. This could also suggest that she had previously died and is now coming back alive in a cycle that seems endless. The fact that her only feature is her mouth could symbolize her desperation to be heard in the industry and as a woman. In the bath scene Gaga's big eyes are a representation of her child-like curiosity and her innocence. When they try to drug her she opens her arms in desperation and seems to surrender to her fate but at the end of the video when she does it again after removing her fur coat, she is now stronger than ever and when the bed is set on fire she is finally free from the cycle. Throught the video Gaga is seen wearing a black crown and glasses while looking at herself in the mirror or covered in jewels and crystals. These images are associated with fame and money and since they are recurring themes in Gaga's discography, they are often referenced (Fame perfume commercial, Coachella chess duel with white queen-Gaga from this video and the recurring black-white-red colors). Gaga herself said that the Abracadabra video was inspired by ideas and concepts she started developing for the Bad Romance music video.

Bad Romance as a song actually premiered during Alexander McQueen's Plato's Atlantis fashion show which was the last one he did before his death. T he entire crazy, shimmery outfit she is wearing during the "walk, walk, fashion, baby" part of the video is from that collection and called the jellyfish outfit - besides that the other crazy heels are also from the same collection. She was always a big fan of McQueen (actually just wore an outfit from one of his collections to the Grammys yesterday :))
