I wish I could name every reference that she makes but I’d be here all day. But basically it’s a giant homage to classic movie musicals. We’ve got references to Annie, singing in the rain, some like it hot, kiss me Kate, sweet charity, viva Las Vegas, and even a little Chicago snippet. Even the fixing the power scene is a reference to the drowsy chaperone. She’s really a theater kid and it showed here. I hope she leans into this storytelling vibe on her tour, cause this was soooo fun.

Also the choreo for go go juice is done using fosse technique. Which was coined by choreographer bob fosse. His choreo was made famous in broadway shows like Chicago, pippin, and sweet charity. But you may recognize some of the style from some recognizable music videos. Single ladies by Beyoncé and yes and by Ariana grande. He’s knows for his very very isolated movements and lots of arms and hands to create movement rather than using leaps and turns as much as someone like a Michael Bennett (another choreographer in that era famous for creating a chorus line) the pop girlies LOVE them some Bob fosse. And as a big fan of his work I love seeing him get main stream recognition.

Feel better soon! Somehow week 2 is even better than week 1. Seeing Terry Crews was a treat! The fact week 1 she had Susan and week 2 had Geena and they both played in the movie Thelma and Louise is iconic in itself. Finding out about who was driving the car was funny. Because I had a suspicion it wasn’t Sabrina actually driving. These songs are so much better live. I love the studio versions but the live ones are the best. I can’t wait to see her have another performance on this level. She’s so entertaining to watch.

the vocals this show felt so much stronger, she was definitely more comfortable for weekend 2!! she’s a young legend in the making 🫶🏻 also Juke!! i heard from the interwebs that Ariana might be making the big announcement on the 28th! we also have Dangerous Woman’s 10th anniversary next month as well, i hope we get performances for that but that may be greedy (wink wink) of me haha

I think one my favorite Sabrina song of ALL time has got to be Lie to girls. I know that may be a controversial pick, it’s not as big as most of her songs on short n sweet and I LOVE all of her older discography as well. But Lie to Girls is so vulnerable and I love her vocals in it as well. The vocals hit me in such an emotional, raw way I appreciate. Honestly it’s cruel to ask this question Danny🤣 I can’t answer it I love ALL of her ballads so much. Anything where she’s belting her ass off, or being extremely vulnerable I adore. I love her fun sarcastic side as well of course. But I’ve always been more of an emotionally vulnerable type when it comes to my favorites. 😌
