It was influenced by the music video for Michael Jackson's "Bad", which also took place in a subway station. The music video was banned from broadcast at the PG-rated time slots in Australian television channels because of its sexual content.

This song!!! music video!! my favorite outfit is the last one and man I remember when this music video came out. In school people went nuts and people had their sexual awakening after this. This song was everywhere and it was the best thing ever. And yes I did watch this music video a lot. It was so cool to me.

omg, I honestly don't even know what to say. This is giving me such a wave of nostalgia. I can instantly picture myself in fifth grade, completely obsessed with Lady Gaga. The Fame was everything to me back then. Watching that music video felt so exciting because it seemed a little forbidden, and that only made me love it more. Looking back now, it's hilarious that my friends and I were screaming every single lyric without having the slightest clue what we were actually singing about. 😂 I still remember reading the translated lyrics in a teen magazine and somehow thinking she was even cooler after that. Gaga inspired me so much growing up. She made me feel free, confident, and unapologetically myself. She'll always be an icon to me. What a goddess
