Watching this gave me persepective of what they are like together and OH MY GOSH thay are adorable! Seriously...I think I got a cavity from watching this.

I really enjoyed watching Miku poke a little fun at Akane for cooking a dish she hadn't made before and seeing Misa trying to hide from the camera while Saiki quietly slept in the other room.

Their dynamic together truely shows that they are a family that makes crazy good music together.

My favourite moments is: quiet Kanami is working.

First of all, it's fun listening to the Maids talking to each other in their natural voices in a casual setting. Secondly, the Maids took many little videos on their beast of a tour bus last year. One of the videos is adorable. Akane texted Kanami to pull back the curtain on her berth to wake her after the always industrious and early rising Kanami woke up. Kanami, wanting to startle her and record it, yanked back the curtain on Akane and there she was with her eyes closed along with MISA, Miku, and Saiki with their eyes closed, looking like kittens snuggling together. Kanami was so surprised, she started giggling hysterically, realizing she was the one who was being pranked. That little video is somewhere on the internet.

I remember watching this live. It's so funny Miku didn't want to go down and potentially bother Kanami, but then Akane mentions her drums, and now Miku has an excuse to go down and does immediately. . If don't follow Miku on instagram you should. Sometimes, she still jumps on live. She's also on X (Twitter)

While Akane was cooking, Miku recording, MISA was sleeping in (hangover?), and, of course, Saiki getting her beauty rest, Kanami's downstairs creating and programming new music. That's part of their dynamic

Check out how fast Akane taps her chopsticks on the pot..... Unconsciously putting out 16th beats? Miku has other livestreams of this band camp of them fooling around playing their instruments blindfolded and Akane faking singing etc...... And Kanami lost her guitar before during an overseas trip and a fan loaned her a similar PRS to use. ...... If Princess Nittpicc doesn't react to the one where they visited Miku's hometown, please at least watch it on your own. It's hilarious!

Eno L

Memorable was written on the Beast Bus too! And yes, that little video clip of them all snuggling together was adorable. This band's members are best friends for life and they're not afraid to show it!

Charles Coleman

This is a fun video to see. And yes, it gives us a nice look at them as just people and friends as well as musicians. Things like this make us love them all the more.

Cindy Clarkson

If they ever think about quitting as a band (which is hopefully in the very, very distant future), they can just carry on as a comedy act...🤣

Charles Coleman

NittPicc, there are a few other videos out there that show them as they are. One I think you should definitely see is the 2020 Akane birthday live stream. It's available on YouTube. About 20 minutes long, broken into 3 parts. It's a really nice look into seeing them as friends, not just bandmates. I will do a search and post the link for you here. There is also a video (about 12 minutes long) about a trip to Kumamoto - Miku's hometown. there are some very cute and funny moments in there as well. Great and fun reaction as always, thank you for your love for this band and for your perspective.

Glen Kelley

These are always fun to watch. As for the reference to Akane's drum color, it's the same as the color of a robot in the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion" - one of the most famous.

Juan San

That was fun. No doubt that the girls had a great time. Clearly the Band Maid Sisterhood needs a flutist/cook, NittPicc!.

Kanami's guitar was lost in the baggage when they were flying from Moscow to Helsinki in 2018. They missed their flight because allegedly there were no announcements. I remember I was so surprised when I heard it that I went and checked the possible flights, and it seems they must have been flying from Sheremetyevo airport. Man, the announcements in that airport are deafeningly loud. I think they just did not understand English. But at least they could have read the announcements on the screens... I ascribe it all to the lack of English knowledge. Whatever, they lost Kanami's guitar and another box with their "interface" — I think it was a computer with their backing tracks. So, in Helsinki Kanami rushed to the music shops to see if anyone would rent her a PRS, and she found a black "vintage" one, which she liked a lot. You may see her playing that black PRS in the fancams from Helsinki 2018. And they managed perfectly fine without their click track and backing tracks, just played it as people played in good old analogue times.

Oh that takes me back a few years, when I discovered Band Maid, I also watched a certain number of interviews and videos of this kind, including this one. When you think about it, this video is taken before Conqueror, so it's 2019, only half of their current group life, but they already seem very close. When we know how the group was formed, that we know the story behind it, it's even more touching to see to what extent this group is now just a group of friends, of sisters, playing for a super big families, us fans (and them too, because they love what they do).

Glenner7

So, you're offering to be a maid... for the maids, then? Send them your CV!! They can squeeze in some flute from you at the same time.

Glenner7

Their last two BluRay/DVD releases (Tokyo Garden Theatre and Yokohama arena) came with documentary discs that are just wonderful to behold. They also did a great interview for Young Guitar in 2021 about their upcoming album Unseen World, and what each member thought about it. I love the occasional interview like this where they talk seriously about their music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKvQ34ZYT9A&t=227s

As far as Miku is concerned, there are also those Japan in Motion videos, where Miku works as a travel video blogger, showing interesting places to the foreign audience. There are some really funny ones, like when she was learning that fisherman's dance.

Eno L

She did good on learning that dance!

Glenner7

I should clarify - I believe the documentaries come with the limited edition version of the bluray/DVD sets...

I don't know how or why, but even looking back, I was somehow attracted to the ladies beyond their music from the very first moment. Not in a weird stalker kind of way or anything like that, but more like you said. You would want to spend some time with them. Each of them is different and yet they all seem super likeable. They have a very special aura surrounding them, which these little glimpses confirm and reinforce, and which sets them apart from other bands.

Rick

She's adorable in that series. Miku is the ultimate promoter.

Charles Coleman

We know exactly what you mean. Even beyond their incredible music, it's who they are as people that really draws to them. They are wonderful, lovable human beings.

NittPicc Reacts

Look...if I get to hang out with them and cook and maybe play flute on a couple of tracks...then hell yeah, I'll be their maid!

Based on the following excerpt from an interview I think there's a very good chance that Kanami was working on the song "Dilemma" as it was a very last-minute addition to the album. It hadn't occurred to me until now, but I wonder if the song got its title from the fact that it was itself a bit of a dilemma. --- MIKU: At first, this album was scheduled to be 14 songs po. But after we finished the 14 songs there was a feeling of vagueness or feeling of something still missing. SAIKI: Yes. So right before we had this go to mastering, we had a meeting and talked about, "Would this be enough to satisfy our masters and princesses at first listening?" It seemed all of us felt the same way. MIKU: So, we decided, "Let's make an additional song." But right when this was decided the lights went out of KANAMI's eyes immediately "Shapa-n."(laughs) SAIKI: The face KANAMI had at that time was really unbelievable(laughs). AKANE: It was also right before the USA tour. MIKU: There was less than 2 weeks before the deadline of the album and recording. And then comes along another song that has to be made from zero po. That's why the light went out of her eyes for a second... KANAMI: But I immediately recovered!(laughs) We talked "If making another, we want a fast song." I had also felt there was a shortage of fast songs in the album so I could understand. It was also fun making the song. "Alright I will make it faster and faster now!(love)"(laughs) It was quite a chore making a new song from zero at that timing, but it was good for not compromising.
