I wouldn't call this brain damage per say...I know it's just the name of the song, but all jokes aside, THIS IS GREAT! The sound is amazing! The start in triplets and the empahsis on beats 1, 2 , 3, and 4 made this more and more interesting. Also, the crunchiness of the bass line along with the guitar parts? It felt like it was more like a sound effect, but it has to be intentional and I love me some intentional dissonance!

(Also, I apologize for any low energy. My new meds have odd side effects that I am still getting used to!)

The actual “88 temple pilgrimage” has a lot written about it. Collectively, the 88 temples are known as Shikoku Hachijūhakkasho (四国八十八箇所). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shikoku_Pilgrimage . Formed on October 8, 2006, this three-piece band describes their musical style as "unpredictable rock music" and "a bit of exhilarating prog rock” . Their mascot character was created by Takashi Taniguchi - https://mc.adkda.net/index.htm . I was sure this would leave you at least a little confused without lyrics, as it did me as well . This animated music video includes choreography from the video Kuku★Nenbutsu … In an attempt to not make this a (typical) tremendously long post :p I will provide 2 links, and one persons guess at the lyrics … and a brief description of what the song “could be” about. (from the interwebs) The three characters are lying on the bed with anxiety in their hearts. In their dreams, the eldest son is trying to confess his feelings (to a girl), the mother is in charge of deciding who the PTA officers are, and the father wants to quit his job! In their dreams, they are all thinking, "What if I get rejected...?", but then Ohenro-san comes and takes them to the sea, hits their rainbow brains, and uses the power of music to dispel their anxiety. Two of them are fine, but only the father is anxious. We wonder if he got his resignation after finding another job? https://pnpktnk.com/nousoukyoku88/ https://note.com/gushagenkai/n/n9e87124e7a7e Roughly translated Lyrics: I want smooth sailing days today, but my face is busy from smiling too much. And the sweet whispers of the Worldly Desires Information Bureau are intense. I'm falling apart as the troublesome things pile up. The war is raging among my friends in the neighborhood, but I'm busy with things like compatibility readings and fashion, and I'm also a frivolous monkey who sprays too much perfume, and when it starts to overflow, it's your signal to shout, GUY Stay Foolish , my brain is noisy. Dear Sir, it's super absurd. Reincarnation, my brain is noisy. Justin, I'm enjoying it today too. I arrived at Nirvana quite easily But I'm lost and chasing someone with all my heart But I've carefully saved up my treasures and passed them on Full throttle, at my limit Wow My brain is noisy Impressions All good good good My brain is noisy Nirvana tranquility Succession My brain is killed My brain is noisy, My brain is noisy My brain is noisy Stay Foolish Dear Sir, it's super absurd My brain is noisy Reincarnation Justin, I'm celebrating today too My brain is noisy , it's noisy, yeah My brain is noisy Nirvana, serenity, wisdom, completely Margaret Hiroi (vocals, bass), Katzuya Shimizu (guitar), and Kenzo (drums). I hope you slept well :p .

Yes, "88 Pilgrimages" is quite an odd band. It's a very interesting phenomenon—they are esoteric, so to say. They don't care about popularity at all. They do everything through their own label, and their music is distributed only on the CDs. Yes, they have their own YouTube channel (which does not even look like an official channel, for many years I thought it's a fan-made outlet). You should react to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVz63DALQYM You will see the members, and the song in itself is a masterpiece.

I like that video as well. Ironically the most popular video I know by them is not on the official channel - Buddha's Death Trishna. I chose this video as it is brand new so even for people familiar with the band in passing, they could see the latest.

Supremely unusual!

My introduction to their music was of course this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D90AOhojK3M The very first video on their channel. Later I was able to find some official recording from their live show, I think it was a festival. I was really impressed with how good they are live. Margarette was playing while standing on top of a fence 😍 And he had only pants on him, so, even though he did not have a beard at the time, you could see he is a man 😂

Disturbing, psychedelic and talented band. Unclassifiable, sometimes reminds me of a metal derivative of Talking Heads. Highly recommended!
