Maybe I'm just a sucker for ballady type songs.

Maybe I just think the Maids have such a knack for performing a producing ballads.

I think it's both.

This one's got a hold on me. I have been humming it since I recorded it and I can't get it out of my head!

Thank you 👸🏻. This is A Song that I always start whenever I listening to Conqueror Album. I make this bad habit of listening to Whole album of Band Maid once every week except Maid in Japan(because they don’t it on YT which I normally listening music from). Idk just love listening to a whole album. Just today I WAS listening to WORLD DOMINATION and felt very Satisfied

Bill Hallisey

I think "Page" is first a very underappreciated song by Band-Maid. Secondly, it is a song that could be covered by any music genre, including country. It's message is hopeful and inspirational. I do wish some American artists would hear it and do a cover with the words in English. The harmonies in this song are almost religious

Bandmaidfanatl

If I had to describe Page, it would be "Maternal"

Edward Allen

It's an electronic drum/effects pad perhaps both, I don't know what the proper term for it is. I haven't seen Akane with it since 2020 but that maybe me just not paying attention. There is an Omajinai time on YT somewhere where Misa and Akane disrupt Miku by playing around with the efects/voices on it. Actually looking at it again I think you were right the first time and she has 2 snares plus the pad

Wayne B

Band-Maid is the master of any and all genres! They never cease to amaze!

Wayne B

There are six different covers, two for Miku.

Bandmaidfanatl

Okyu-ji basically means "serving." Of course, everything Band-Maid has to be unique and in theme.

Wayne B

I have both Miku versions, so far. not sure how to send a pic.

Chalfo

So you agree it's better (cooler/more impressive) if they initiate the sounds live? (yes, that would be my point) - there is still a backing track on this though (but in the back, where it should be)

Glenner7

Wow. Thank you for this! You have helped me to remember how I felt when I first heard this song on a beautiful summer day. I played it on repeat for an hour or two right away. When you watch the entire okyu-ji (you were close - this word does refer to a concert, but it means "serving" as in the maids serving us their music), you'll see the MC part where MISA and Akane troll Miku using the drum pad. Extreeemely funny! And finally, here's proof that you are prescient. In an interview for TRACKs on Dec. 11, 2019, Miku said the following about Page: Kobato: Our guitarist Kanami-chan seems to have written it as a song to play at wedding ceremonies, but I didn’t know that, because she didn’t tell me (laughs). We wrote it late in the album production period, and I had already written various lyrics, so I couldn’t decide what to write and asked Sai-chan (Saiki) like “What kind of lyrics do you want, po?” She was like “We haven’t had a song about beauty, so isn’t it good to write lyrics that would be used in commercials for cosmetics?” So I wrote lyrics with the idea that women want to stay themselves and stay beautiful forever. I heard about wedding ceremonies only after that, but I think I wrote well about the beauty and strength of women including wedding ceremonies, so I like the lyrics myself, po. PS: You'll find scans of the alternate Conqueror covers on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/jc4ike/anyone_have_scansphotos_of_the_alternate/

Okyu-ji means serving. Since they are Maids, they consider their concerts servings as they are "serving" their masters and princesses. And yes, their banter back and forth is adorable. There is just so much to love about this band.

Jonas S

Kanami wrote this song as 'a song that you can get married to'. She didn't tell Miku though. Kanami was very pleased with the lyrics Miku came up with. <3

Wayne B

It is often said Saiki and Miku harmonize so well, but in this setting all of the ladies are so well matched, it's like a singe voice!

Charles Coleman

NittPicc, watching you at the end of this video, you just look relaxed. I feel the same way when I listen to this song, especially the acoustic version. This song is just so beautiful and it's truly massage for the soul. All tension and stress has left the mind and body. Thank you for reacting to and enjoying this beautiful masterpiece. Kanami is a musical genius, there is no doubt.

Wayne B

I don't see a link.

This song entered my Band-Maid top-ten list the first time I heard it and has remained there ever since. I really enjoy your multiple-version reactions. Thanks.

Juan San

Exactly! Wedding music. You are very insightful lady. Kanami wrote this song with the image of a bride entering her celebration and Miku/Saiki added lyrics about beauty. I still remember the commotion that was created among the die hard fans (who came from the rocker LP World Domination) when they found Page opening the new album. This band is absolutely panoramic and they masterfully write songs in every style possible (most times in the same song), but this is something that not every one undestand.

No Holding Back now ;) hehe

I remember, I was listening to CONQUEROR from Google Music, that's where I purchased it digitally at first. And at one moment, suddenly Google decided to reverse the playing order, and then I was listening to the album starting from RINNE and ending with PAGE. And then I realised that CONQUEROR is a story of a human life. They skip the childhood, the real story starts with wedding ceremony. And of course RINNE is death. In reverse order it's like in those movies where the story goes backwards. First you see an old person dying, and then you go back through her life, revisiting the key points, ending with the beautiful wedding ceremony, when she was so young and beautiful, and was turning the new important page in her life. Starting to write her own book of life, yes. BAND-MAID is a magical thing. So much more than just a rock band...

Wayne B

Good stuff, Vladimir!

Wayne B

So true!

Minchorules2809

Love this song, it is in my top ten songs by band maid ❤️🔥❤️🔥

Amazing! What Band Maid does on many times is offer a journey, a story, an experience. They do it with their albums, for example what you have masterfully told about Conqueror or the image of Unleashed Furies that Raijin Rock told about Unseen World (and for which I tend to relate Unleash with UW; https://raijinrock.com/band-maid-the-furies-unleashed-review-of-unseen-world/). But they also do it with their songs. As a last example, Forbidden Tale, which I also think of as the course of a person's life, just as Conqueror does throughout the entire album. This makes their music an enriching experience.

Sawzar

A Rocking lullaby... same tought i had listening to this song. Precious... It put my mind in a comfortable place Also, now Band Maid have quite a catalog of songs, and some fall out fo the 'spotlight' at some point, just because there are too many.. But what amuses me about BM, is that you can pick a song like this, and after loong time be amazed again (falling in love again and again...well, that could also be insanity!?! ).

Vlad the Maidiac

Oh, I remember that story about Furies! Yes, amazing analogy! Thanks for reminding me about it!

Richard N

A Band-Maid concert is called a "serving" (お給仕 Okyu-Ji).

Glenner7

That's funny! If you had first heard Unseen World in reverse order, the first song would have been Black Hole. What would you have expected after that!?!

Juan San

A heart attack?, lol

I hated this track for a long time. It's a ballad (which I generally don't like as much), it's extremely poppy and whiney and I just can not stand how it starts with the autotuned vocals, which made me really dislike the Conqueror album for a very long time, it almost made me stop listening to the album when I just bought it (I still think it was a terrible decision to put this track as the first song of the album). That said, I noticed during the Christmas Acoustic session that I didn't mind it as much. Now, that might have been because it was 3 or 4 am when that session started in my timezone and I drunk wine for Christmas, but I think it works pretty well going back to that Acoustic albums countless times. I still would rank it pretty low on the Band-Maid scale, but it certainly passed a couple of their other ballads that I never really cared for (*cough* Daydreaming *cough*). They did a great job with all the ballads on that acoustic set actually, I have way more appreciation for all of them (like "At The Drop Of A Hat", which I really couldn't stand before either). I think "Smile" is the only one of them that I still have a hard time listening to, even in the acoustic version. Btw, that acoustic album is probably my favourite Band-Maid album. Edit: as some more info, Miku didn't used to play on the albums. Kanami recorded everything (with Miku's guitar) and learned Miku to play the songs for when they were going to perform Live. I have no idea if that has changed recently (Miku is certainly a very capable guitar player now), but it certainly was the case around this time from what I have read. Edit 2: As far as Akane's drum goes, it's possible it's a second snare with a trigger attached to it. A trigger on a drum can be mapped to whichever electronic sample you want, basically creating an electronic drumkit. So it's not necessarily the mic that does this, but an electronic trigger, which basically translates virbations to 0 or 1 and is programmed to trigger at a specific point. It's similar to what they use on electronic drumkits and it is used a lot in metal. Mostly on kickdrums (I wouldn't be surprised if Akane uses it as well for her kick) for bands with a lot of double bass kicks, but also on snares for drummers that do a lot of very fast blastbeats because it is a way to keep the sound of all the hits similar in volume. And yes, the thing above that looks like a drumpad. I am still not a huge fan of the sound, but I do appreciate her playing it like that live. Ok, looking at that drum under it, it might be a snare of an electronic kit instead of a triggered acoustic drum. It has this plastic-style black rim. Edit 3: Richard N already explained Okyu-ji, but concert is just コンサート (konsaaruto), so basically the English word. They also use ライブ (Raibu -> Live) as a word for a concert. So if they say Live video, it means that the video is taken from a concert, not necessarily that the music is live like we would.

BM 4-Life

So here is my take on the song.... Prior to the Conqueror album was the World Domination album, and that followed was a World Domination tour that started in 4/4/2018 thru 2/14/2020. Conqueror to me is a album that BAND-MAID Conqueror the world, and PAGE being the first song on the album, is them basking in their glory over the landscape.

Eaglez1

One of only 3 songs ever that brings a tear to my eyes. My favorite Band-Maid song. Period. They've yet to play it at any okyuji I've attended. Hopefully one day
