Hola Famila!

I will no longer be eating McDonalds. I honestly believe that eating their mini cheeseburger and large fry was the reason for my food poisoning. This is what I get when I choose to have a cheat meal early in the week...

Here's the line-up!

BAND-MAID Sunday:

Akane Documentary by  @Ohrenje  !!!

I cannot wait to see how Akane joined BM and how she got into drumming!

Scorpions - Wind of Change

I won't lie. I know this song, but I knew of it when I was a very little girl. My dad used to whistle this song all the time and he was the one who introduced me to the Scorpions. I always loved the singer's voice and the sound of the band so revisiting this song will be interesting as an adult.

SIDE NOTE: I actually would love to start a series where I react to music that my parents introduced me to as a child and have the opportunity to experience that music as an adult. Would that be interesting at all?

King Gnu x Sheena Ringo - Work

I chose to react to this one because I was interested in listening to King Gnu...and of course I had to see the lovely Sheena Ringo. I have heard of King Gnu from many here on the platform, but I just haven't had a chance to check them out.

BAND-MAID - LOOK AT ME

Two words: Score. Study. 🥳 Let's jump into this song and really see why it's so special!

Don't forget that we have ANIME REACTIONS going up on Wednesdays!

CURRENTLY WATCHING: Bocchi The Rock!

NEW MARCH ADDITION: Sound Euphonium!

I hope you are all healthy and happy. Please take care and have a GREAT weekend!

Con amor,

💜NittPicc💜

Interesting as I would have thought your YT pick and Patreon pick for BAND MAID would have been reversed ;) . I am not intimately familiar with King Gnu ... but the band name always makes me thing of Gary Gnu (and the No Gnews Show) from Saturday morning cartoons when I was a ... young adult ;) . I will listen closely in hopes of shaking that image :p . Winds of Change really needs to be viewed and listened to with some knowledge of history from the late 80s. The only fact I will share now, since NittPicc mentioned it, is that severely stupid American recording executives wanted to remove Klaus Meine's whistling from the American release. Would have been only one of many blunders by the industry in that time ... thankfully it was retained. BTW I for one would actually love to hear some of the music that shaped your younger years ;) .

Looking forward to Wind of changes, born in 1987 i was too young to what is happening in the world. And in present one of Russia demand returns Europe to West/East block.

There is a new version the band performs LIVE when done in concert now since the Russian clash with the Ukraine.

Oh really? I remember when that song appeared. The Berlin Wall has has just collapsed, and there was so much hope for the friendship and peace from now on. This song was summarizing all those hopes, it really went deep into our hearts. All people in Russia sang it, you could hear it from every window. Well, the world develops in swings of pendulum. Something terrible happens, people suffer and start to think how to make things right — and then do something wonderful and beneficent for all. But some measure of stupidity still remains, and people who were raised on old values and are still living in the past create some havoc. Again people are dying, another war, another crisis. And yet again, humanity gathers strength and overcomes the problem, to break on through to the better and happier future. And the cycle continues... I am sure the current dark times will, too, pass. Old people who are now in power, will finally die, and the new and wonderful generation will take their place, free from old prejudices and filled with new energy. Po! Sekai Seifuku! Mooi mooi kyun kyun! I cast the magic spell for PEACE&LOVE!

As of 2022, the Scorpions still perform the song live but with lyrical changes in light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The opening lines are changed to "Now listen to my heart / It says Ukrainia, waiting for the wind to change." Meine stated, "It's not the time with this terrible war in Ukraine raging on, it's not the time to romanticize Russia."
