Ah, yes.

Young band kid love. It's a thing.

Our band director used to joke about how many of us would meet the love of our lives in band, and no lie, I have friends who married their band sweetheart.

I dated my band sweetheart until my junior year of college. 😅

As an adult watching that band kid love now...it's kinda gross. Ha!

There may not be a crazy amount of music topics in this episode, but it did bring up the topic that most band kids are in band for...the drama and relationships!

It was me the one of the watch order, but as I made a mistake I gonna repost it. The watch order of Sound Euphonium skipping the specials and movie 1 and 2 because are recopilations of the season that don't sum all much is this: - Season 1 - Season 2 - Liz and the Blue bird (don't skip this, it's a masterpiece and it's canon) - Movie 3: Our Promise - A Brand New Day - Season 3. (final season) Talking about other things, Reina's and Kumiko's relationship is one of the best things of this show...a little yuri bait...but I love it. Reina is THE QUEEN of this show...pun intended. Shuichi is down bad with Kumiko and she treats him so cold, but that's a thing we will see onwards.

It's good to have a large vocabulary when communicating musical sounds and expressions. To not just talk about music in notes and beats.... but colors, shadows, textures, emotions ... and onomatopoeia! Crash, hiss , rattle, buzz, rumble, groan, howl.... (I know there's many that are already established musical terms)

You appear to have jumped the gun slightly and posted your Girls Band Cry thumbnail of the Sound ! Euphonium reaction, assuming that might've been tied into rushing around element of your 'woke up late' post on YT? :P Had been anticipating your reaction to the ending duet and Reina's musings and behaviour on the climb, the Reina & Kumiko contrasting personality dynamic is central to the entirety of the show in many ways. Shuuichi is still a nice young man, but he's very much in the 'childhood friend'/'boy next door' mold and that's almost too vanilla & playing it safe in comparison IMHO. In terms of remembering the cast, it's somewhat trickier because of the expanded cast compared with Bocchi. So I'm just gonna focus on the main season one 1st years for this post, with a crib notes type distillation of key identifiers (formatted so the family name is last to simplify understanding): -Kumiko Oumae: Main protagonist, euphonium player -Reina Kousaka: Dark hair, intense & emotional about music but otherwise kinda stoic, dynamic trumpet player -Hazuki Katou: Friendly musical newcomer, unrequited feelings for Shuuichi, plays "Tubacabura" -Sapphire 'Midori' Kawashima: Tiny, passionate about music, Hazuki's wing-girl, contrabass player -Shuuichi Tsukamoto: The childhood friend/boy-next-door, trombonist Sapphire can be literally translated as 'green brilliancy', but is kinda oddball/new-age sounding for a first name in Japan, so she prefers to go by Midori which also means 'vibrant green' but is much more normal. You picked up correctly on the double meaning of the 'Festival Triangle' title, assume it fully clicked for you when Kumiko drew it in her workbook whilst trying to figure out the headache of a situation she found herself in. Liked that you had the same reaction to Midori's lil' sister in the mini-me kimono as well; think the initial shyness & quiet encouragement during the first meeting and then helping to comfort Hazuki during the ending montage makes her even more of a precious cinnamon roll.

NittPicc, thank you for reviewing Sound Euphonium with us. It gives a non-musician old geezers like me an insight to the life of musicians and band members. Any time you gain insight into the lives of others you become a better person.

This was fun to watch, you are great as a reactor. Tell just few things out of your live, and than back to story on anime. I liked the Kousaka-san from the first moments. And the goosebumps i have from scenes her playing trumpet solo, made me watch more fro this series.

I know Kumiko and Reina ship Is kind of queerbait but I LOOOOOVE their relationship. They meant to be together and no one can deny that they have incredible chemistry

I know right?!? Their chemistry is amazing and I thought for a minute that their love story was going to blossom!
