I felt like I was getting to know the Maids slowly already, but this really makes me feel like I am friends with them! (I wish)

I know this is only part 1, but sit tight and hang on with me as we see the Maids take the US by storm!

Thanks for reacting to this, can't wait for the next part

Glenner7

I'm pretty sure that SJ can tell you who made Miku's Flappy Pigeon guitar cake. Also, that fellow near the end of part 1 speaking with the iconic accent about Miku being a superstar is someone you know - shout out to Vladimir Chupin!

Eaglez1

That's actually a double deck bus. The seats on second deck where looking out forward above drivers cab. And yes, the entire tour was sold out. Yes, I'm in the DC snippet. As far as you getting tix next time they're here, I wouldn't worry too much, you'll get one somehow 😉. Just don't expect meet n greets, they don't do them anymore

Charles Coleman

Vladimir is a Band Maid legend and such a total sweetheart of a guy!! I'm glad I got to meet him on this tour. for anyone who doesn't know, he has a library of old Band Maid fancam videos from before (and after) the pandemic. Many cool videos from venues in Europe. Be sure to check out his videos on his YT channel. Maybe NittPicc can react to some of these older videos some day? wink, wink, nudge, nudge!

Charles Coleman

One of the things I really like about this is, seeing how excited they got before that first show in Seattle and also the other shows, was so cool! We had waited so long (thank you Covid!! 🤬) to see them again and apparently, they missed us too. I am so glad that the Maidiacs could make them feel like this.

Badllama

If you knew where to look, and what my wife and I look like, you would have seen us at the San Francisco show. Can't wait for part 2.

Charles Coleman

for the record, in the 13 one man shows they did (they also played Aftershock festival before their own tour), I do believe they sold out every venue. 20,000 tickets were sold for the 13 shows. They only had 11 originally, but because they sold them out so quickly, they added 2 shows and upgraded to larger venues for Dallas and Boston if I remember right. I was lucky enough to see 4 shows. Many fans I met saw more than that! And I know at least Richard Hogan - Hogie - saw all 14. Wow!!

Charles Coleman

NittPicc, at the end of the LA show, you can clearly see SJ Nix on the rail. to his right (left from our view) is Peter Lim. I was on the rail Misa side, but just out of camera view. Seeing Misa that close is mind blowing. I hope you get your wish and at least once get on the rail somewhere for a Band Maid show. It's indescribable.

Juan San

I've always had the feeling that this post-pandemic tour was their "all or nothing" plan. In fact, that coast-to-coast tour was extremely demanding. "This is a family that plays together" is a great way to describe them. If anyone doubts that this fandom truly loves them, they just have to watch this video and see just how much.

William Hallisey

The song Kanami was creating on the bus turned out to be "Memorable", another love song to their fans. Kanami stated that the reception by the fans in the U S. was what inspired the song.

Charles Coleman

NittPicc, concerning the people from out of town or state, I went to 4 shows and every one had people from other states and other countries. I met people from Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Russia, Israel, Japan. One guy I met in Philly took the train all the way from Kentucky. It was absolutely insane how far people traveled to see these ladies

William Hallisey

NittPicc, WHEN Band-Maid comes to Dallas, you WILL obtain a VIP ticket, your fans will make sure that happens.

Glen Kelley

Thanks for the viewing - I see that most of your questions have been answered by the other commenters. For 2023 they played 23 times in the US (three were as the opening band for a Super Group called "The last rock stars" -I think 30 minutes or so).

Charles Coleman

You are correct. It was a grueling tour. And towards the end, they played 5 shows in 6 days. DC, Philly, day off, NYC, Boston, NJ. 1 day off and travel to Chicago for the final.

Vlad the Maidiac

In 2022, the ticket sales were in no way connected to the O-MEI-SYU-SAMA club. They were sold by Ticketmaster directly. You could simply buy VIP if you wished. I mean 2022 tour. I don't know about 2023, though. Did they sell tickets through O-MEI-SYU-SAMA? I don't remember. But I did not plan to go, maybe I completely forgot by now how it was done that time.

Dan Harris

As a fan club member you will get an opportunity to buy VIP tickets before they go on sale to the public so you should be good. I had VIP tickets in 2019 for Dallas and actually met the band! Best $79 I ever spent! I was also in the crowd at Dallas and Houston 2022 tour. I know Michael Barbour was responsible for finding the baker for Miku's cake. That was a saga in itself.

William Hallisey

NittPicc, I don't know if you realized it, but at the Dallas show, the fan who identified himself as "Scott" was S.J. Nix. Didn't he have a VLOG interview with you on the Maid News Network?

Vlad the Maidiac

In Chicago, Miku asked during OMAJINAI TIME who went to all 14 shows. You can see it in my video, and I guess there are a few other fancams which caught that moment. If I remember correctly, it was three people. Or four? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3M6-96hqQ4

Glenner7

I will NEVER get tired of watching these fan cams - thank you for all the ones you've uploaded, Vlad!

Charles Coleman

yes, I believe I heard the same. by the way, my friend Bill who was next to you at the Philly show sends his love!

Charles Coleman

Vladimir, you are a true hero to us Maidiacs! Thank you for all you have done for our beloved Ladies Po!

P in D

Tix for 2022 and 2023 were sold here through Ticketmaster, first come, first serve.

Lord Vorador

It's so awesome your interview made it in to the Documentary Vlad! You definitely deserve it brother, for all the great fan cams you provided to the fans over the years! 🤘

P in D

2022 I saw them in Chicago which turned out to be a special stop ... the final one on the tour. Akane broke out in tears and poor Kanami was exhausted. In 2023 I saw them in Detroit and they played one of my favorite songs that they had not done live very often - Unfair Game. Our MAIDs always deliver something special.

Lord Vorador

I was fortunate enough to meet Vladimir & hang out with him at the Philly okyu-ji after party. We figured out & sent the set list for the show to the Discord & SetlistFM peeps together by going through his camera recordings after the show. 😆 It was a great memory I'll always cherish. Vladimir is the nicest & coolest guy you could ever wish to meet!

Lord Vorador

Awesome your watching this NittPicc! It brings back so many memories... 🥲 I was fortunate to see them for the first time at the Philadelphia & New Jersey okyu-ji's on this tour, & you can see me in a few shots of the New Jersey show because I was on the rail in front of Kanami. 😊 ...so I guess I'm immortalized in BAND-MAID history now. 🤣 BTW those American flag Katakana logo t-shirts were only sold on that tour & only available at the venues, they weren't sold online. I have one I bought in New Jersey that is getting pretty worn out since I wear it regularly, I wish I would've bought more... 😢

Chris Bergsten

Coming out of COVID, the band wasn't even sure their fans in the US would still be into them. When they heard that every show sold out they thought they were being pranked. They were so affected by their reception by the US fans after years of not touring that they made Memorable, the song Kanami was working out on the bus, as a kind of love letter and thank you to us. (I thought you'd seen the MV, but if you haven't, you should - especially now that you've seen this documentary.) At least, that's the official story. After all, humility is valued in both the performing arts and Japanese culture, and the band (and their management) surely had Youtube views and comments, merch sales, Spotify numbers, ticket sales and attendance for online okyuji, etc. in order to make a business case and plans for a longer US tour. Were they really surprised? But the maids have always been particularly gracious to their fans, and they seem very down to earth, and having seen them in person I can say they're very much moved by audience response... so I choose to believe the charming take, not the cynical one. I was at the Seattle show. I believe I'm somewhere near the beginning of that long tracking shot of the line with all the blurred faces, but I can't find myself and might be hidden behind other people...

Ryan Bedford

I deleted my post about ticket sales after being called out for being incorrect. Turns out it wasn't. I still have the email. Fan Club members had a 3-day presale with VIP options. The link remains active on their website. Tickets were sold through Ticketmaster, but it was password-protected (PASSWORD: BANDMAID10THAUGUST) for presale.

Juan San

I think that's why the 2023 tour was better designed, in two legs and with more north-south type trips, avoiding crossing too many time zones.

Wayne B

I was at Phoenix and Dallas during this tour, both VIP tickets. Took my grand-daughter to the Dallas show and she had a great time! I got the tickets early hoping to get one or the other and happened to get both! I knew the Maids were destined for bigger venues, but I was sure happy and blessed to see them in Phoenix at a very small venue! I was front row on the rail in front of Kanami, and yes, when she came forward for a solo, she was close enough to touch her if you were dumb enough to try! Got to look her right in the eyes a few times! Then the Miku birthday experience in Dallas was over the top! The "Say" towels stopped her in her tracks during Omajinai Time, but she recovered and had fun with them! It was very special! Flew out from Denver and couldn't have been happier!

Charles Coleman

I saw them in Philly too! I was on the rail Misa side with 2 of my friends and very close to Vladimir. I got super lucky and got a Misa pic! the afterparty at The Tattooed Mom was so much fun! The Maidiacs took over the joint!

Charles Coleman

At the very start of this video, Kanami says that she wants this tour to end safely. In case anyone had forgotten, Covid was slowing down and things were opening up, but it was still very much a problem. Some other acts had to cancel tours because they got the virus, probably costing them a lot of money. 14 shows in about 24 days, lots of travel, different cities. It's almost a minor miracle that they got through it all without any Covid issues. We were all so very happy for them!! Happy and relieved!

Charles Coleman

At the LA show for Misa's birthday, they had those two large banners outside the venue for anyone to sign. So a LOT of people put their names and birthday wishes for Misa on them. And as you can see, they wrapped up Misa in her signs at the end of the show. LOL! Also, during Omajinai Time, Misa asked for a shot of tequila for her birthday and she drank it on stage - to much applause from the crowd!!

Vlad the Maidiac

Kanami has contracted some virus in New York, and felt really bad during the New Jersey American Dream show. But it passed quickly, and in Chicago she was already OK. At least, not so terribly weak.

Vlad the Maidiac

Hmmm... Well, you should not have deleted the post, it's not that anyone is blaming you. I just want to find out how it was, just for my own memory... and historical records. I digged now through BAND-MAID Web-site, and I cannot find any mention of this. Can you send the link please? I would really appreciate. Also, the password says "10THAUGUST," which definitely did not relate to that 2022 American Tour, which happened in October. I see that they announced that BAND-MAID will play AFTERSHOCK FESTIVAL right when the war started, on February 24th: https://bandmaid.tokyo/contents/500073 As far as I remember, I was able to buy tickets really a couple of hours before all the Russian VISAs and MasterCards were blocked on March 1st. I grabbed what I could get, and it was only Washington and Philadelphia. All the other tickets I was buying already from the Netherlands a few months later, through the friends. Peter Lim asked me which shows I am going to attend, I said only two. He said, come to LA as well. And then he found me the tickets for the eight extra shows. So, in the end I attended ten OKYUJIs, all VIP except for Chicago, where I paid extra right inside the venue, and went to the balcony.

Vlad the Maidiac

Philadelphia show was nice 😍 But the afterparty was so noisy I left after a few minutes 😂 Said hello to Alan from Dicodec, Ryan Mear (him I saw already in the queue), and Champ of Medium, and went to the hotel to have some sleep 😑

Vlad the Maidiac

I wanted to say the same thing. Why NittPicc thought that those seats look backwards? Strange. It's like this in all the tourist buses with two decks. The best seats, you feel yourself like you are flying over the road.

Vlad the Maidiac

Thanks! Yes, it's me at 48:58. Their videographer was interviewing a lot of people. In Houston, he also interviewed The Butler, Jose Pablo GL: https://www.youtube.com/@josepablogl He said he cannot speak English well enough, and then the videographer said, OK, speak in Spanish if you want. So, Pablo delivered a fiery speech in Spanish 😂 But it was not included in the final movie. They used a very short snippet from my speech, actually. I was speaking of how great BAND-MAID is, and said that they are a fusion of Van der Graaf Generator and Metallica. But I guess nobody among the video editors in Japan knows who Van der Graaf Generator were, so, they decided not to include that long passage.

Lord Vorador

Nice! I might of met you there or at the after party, IDK I met so many people that night it's all kinda all a blur. 😆 I was second row directly in front of Miku in Philadelphia. I figured it was the proper thing to do being in front of the founder & lovely Little Pigeon for my first ever Okyu-ji! 😊

Charles Coleman

That big black tour bus was so cool for them to be able use, they so deserved it! They even gave it a name. Black Cat-chan!

Charles Coleman

During this tour, Akane was deliberately trying to throw off her bandmates with the ending of songs. It was funny! They were just up there having the time of their lives! And so were we!

Drive Time

Password protected pre-sales are pretty standard in the US and the BAND-MAID tour was no exception. Fan club members were given a password in both 22 and 23. While most venues sold through Ticketmaster, not all did. The only venue where this really mattered was Chicago. It was the only venue that sold-out all VIP tickets in the pre-sale. Most, but not all, sold out eventually but it took some time.

Juan Lee

Hey NittPicc, I hadn't watched this in awhile but it brought back a lot of memories, I saw 2 shows on the 2022 tour in SF at August Hall on October 14th and then drove all night down to LA to see them at the Belasco (beautiful theater) on October 15th both shows were amazing August Hall was maybe a little more fun as the MC's kinda went off the rails and that is where the whole "Akane throwing the banana peel" thing started....it was a hoot, lol!! Now the LA show was more on point and maybe more intense that way, but someone had put their put foot down between SF & LA and there was noooo going off the rails in the MC's but still a great show and a great birthday celebration for MISA at both shows :-)
